Cerritos College Fall 2012

U.S.A. California

So I got my letter of acceptance for the fall 2012 semester pending that I pass the TEAS exam with a 62% ( registered for it on campus in May). This was the first nursing college I had a chance to apply to. Anyone else on here on board for Fall 2012? What should I expect the workload to be ? I have a non-nursing bachelors degree ( Biology and Sociology) but decided to take the ADN route since it cost significantly less.

Do any of you think it is possible for me to maintain a part-time job while in school? maybe work weekends or some nights? Whats the class schedules generally like?

Hi ranbo33, I got accepted to fall 2012 too. I also applied to some nursing schools for the first time and got accepted :)

Did you take TEAS yet? I did and got more than 62%.

My friend's sister has been to this program since spring 2012, and she said that the first semester is very busy.

I am worrying because I have part-time job on weekends.

My another friend who goes to BSN program says that we shouldn't work the first semester, but if we have to do, we should work less than 10 hours a week.

I am wondering how I should do...

I have not taken the TEAS exam, but the acceptance letter allocated 2 days where I have a chance to take them. I bought a TEAS practice exam and it does not look too bad. I hear the science part is very hard but from what I can see from the practice exams it does not too too bad. This could be because I graduated in a degree in biology :).

Have you taken the Development Psychology required for the ADN program? Are there any other campuses that have that course for distance learning?

Also do you know what days and time generally the classes are meeting for the first semester?

I don't know the particulars but a friend went to Cerritos and worked for a semester or two. But he was already used to an insane schedule as an EMT so he worked late nights. There's definitely no time to work during the day.

Check out some of the schools in the LA Community College District for Psych 41 (their course number). It's usually available as an online class at their campuses.

Thanks everyone! I'll be commuting from Orange County so hopefully it all goes well.

Also what hospitals are linked with Cerritos College for its clinical rotations?

Hi Jessica,

My name is Mony. I got accepted in to nursing program in this fall too. I also got accepted in Long beach city college as well. Now I am thinking about which school to go too. It kinda stressful a little bit. Do you have any advice ? I took TEAS test as well and got more than 62%.

Hi Mony, I'm Ya**ko :)

My friend's sister is going to the nursing school in Cerritos, so if you have any questions about the program, I will ask my friend.

But since the sister is busy, please be patient with the reply :)

Best,

Jessica(Ya**ko)

Yes, I can wait. Thanks Jessica :).

Passed my TEAS Exam with a score of 87%! Winged it and did a lot better than I thought! Hope to see some of you at orientation :)

Congrats all around! I just finished up my first year in the program at Cerritos. Awesomely awesome school, faculty, instructors, program...everything. Good luck to you all, and see you soon!
