CEP Feb. Applicants

Published

Hi all! Anyone else applying for the CEP program through Maricopa Community College during this upcoming application cycle? I'm applying for the GCC/NAU program and was curious if anyone else is applying this semester as well. I'm hoping I make the cutoff - the program is becoming really popular really fast!

And I didn't get anything about a nurse pack. Just a stethoscope of choice, a handheld smart device and all the required books. I was wondering about that. Maybe we get more info once we submit our required documents? Hopefully anyway.

Speaking of documents, am I the only one who needs a bunch of immunizations?

I didn't get anything about books, stethoscopes etc.. But you're right we'll probably get more info once all the paper work is returned! I feel like we're slowly being given tiny pieces of the puzzle!

I was about ready to turn in my packet until I realized that I need to take the "Health Care Provider" CPR class which I'll be taking this Friday. I just have the regular CPR right now. I took a CNA course through MCC about 2 years ago that required the immunizations so luckily I already had them ready this time around. Blood Titers will probably be the easiest if you don't have shot records! That's what I did, which just left the 2 step tb and the tetorifice shot. Keeping track of Immunization records can be a pain though!

At the NAU orientation they didn't recommend getting the TB test or CPR cert. done until after May. That way it doesn't expire in the middle of a block. I believe she said that the CPR is good for the whole 2 years and if you do it right you won't need to do it again for the duration if the program (fast track anyways)

Hello Dylansmomm, have you received anything from Gateway for orientation yet? I can't believe what a process this is. I volunteer at PCH so they give you a free TB test otherwise I would have waited now I am going to need an annual done by block 2.

I need Varicella, Hep B, Tetorifice, and the TB test, I figured I would also get Hep A while I'm already getting these. I was going to wait on the TB test and CPR recertification until around the end of May, for the reason Dylansmomm mentioned. My background check is done, so just waiting on TB and CPR really.

Thanks for that PDF ScrubGirl, I hadn't received a copy of that! :)

For my work I always need a current cpr and annual tb so those were taken care of. And yeah thanks for the link scrubgirl, lots of great info!

Check your louie account ladies, they enrolled everyone today into our classes! My stomach is doing somersaults!

I got mine!!! Yay! So exciting. I have NUR330 on Tuesdays, anyone else?

I'm so excited all signed up for classes. I'm doing the fast Track so I have NUR321 and NUR330. I hope I can handle it. PinkUnicorn, I'm taking my NUR330 on Tuesday hope to see you there.

Awesome! I'll be there bright-eyed and bushy tailed... Well, okay, maybe not but close! I have Fast Track as well.

Oh my gosh, this is all so exciting after such a long road. I saw a lady at my local grocery store wearing the Maricopa scrubs, with a NAU patch on her sleeve today. I wanted to say something, but I probably would have come off like a giant goober, so I didn't. That'll be us soon! :D

I will bring the coffee, I live across town so I will have to make the long drive hope I don't run into to much traffic. I forgot about the NAU patch we will be getting how exciting.

I will be in the Monday classes in June so I will let you guys know how it goes. I'm going to have a super long drive as well since I am in E. Mesa! At least it is only 5 classes:)
