Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad 2011

Just wanted to know if anyone here got an e-mail invitation on Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad Program. I had my phone interview with them on December 29th. I received my e-mail today inviting me to the hiring event Open House for the Program on January 19th. I'm soooo nervous. It's been almost a year since I graduated and I finally got my first in-person interview! It's been so hard on all of us graduates! Let's hope for the best! :D

Thank you very much! It's nice b/c Huntington is literally 2 or 3 blocks from where I live so the commute won't be too bad...

That's awesome you don't have to commute trust me! I commute to San Diego for my job and I wish I didn't have to.......

I feel the job at Cedars would have to be a LOT better for me to turn down the Huntington b/c it will allow me to spend more time w/ my wife and it's an ICU position...

Willow, that is terrible I can't believe now she is telling you that she has no idea when to expect an answer... I am very sorry and I will continue to pray for the best!

Is it Huntington hospital? or Huntington beach?

Also, did you apply to the new grad program online?

Huntington hospital only has oncology right now...:(

Sorry it is Huntington Memorial Hosp. in Pasadena... Yeah they were only taking 3 people for the ICU New Grad program (they interviewed quite a few though). And from what HR was telling me is that they were hiring people in a couple different areas and that they were doing it group by group as opposed to all at once. Like someone on here got a call or applied to a DOU flr and I think got an interview; so I am guessing Oncology is the only thing left maybe??????

I submitted my Resume online and then got a call a week or so later. If you have any other questions let me know.

I completely understand, my ultimate goal was to be in ICU so to go straight in w/ out having to 1st be on a Med Surg flr is huge for me... It would probably be best if you called HR and spoke directly to ---- (Nurse Recruiter and who did the 1st part of my interview). I don't know how desperate you are to find a job but Oncology is better then nothing and it isn't like you are going to be on that floor forever.

Yeah I have heard absolutely ZERO from cedars and to be honest I wanted to work at Huntington more anyways. Thank you so much and let me know what you end up doing!
