Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad 2011

Just wanted to know if anyone here got an e-mail invitation on Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad Program. I had my phone interview with them on December 29th. I received my e-mail today inviting me to the hiring event Open House for the Program on January 19th. I'm soooo nervous. It's been almost a year since I graduated and I finally got my first in-person interview! It's been so hard on all of us graduates! Let's hope for the best!

When I called last week and asked if there were any positions left, the woman said yes, and that not everyone has been notified yet. Of course, she said that they would start notifying more this week, but it seems like nothing happened, so I don't know. I'm thinking there are two different reasons that could explain why they're taking forever. 1) They're waiting for those who got the call to say "no," so that the people who haven't heard from them could get hired. 2) They're working on placement for the previous cohort to get them out of med/surg and onto the unit of their choice. Once that has happened, then they can call us. Of course, it could be anything. Who knows what it really is, but they apparently don't want to mention anything over the phone.

Or through email... I got a hold of ------ today and she said "Although many emails have gone out we are still in the selection process.", now I don't know if that means I am getting an email (which means I didn't get it) and she just hasn't sent mine or if it means they just aren't done notifying people yet...

there is no way of knowing. i think it is good that we are still waiting. sending a reject email is pretty easy and clear. we are either waitlisted or in the stack of possible hirees i would suspect....

it is hard to believe that a cohort is actually staring this monday july 11. have they changed start dates?

Yeah I know I was thinking the same thing, in that I can't believe a group is already starting... As for knowing if they changed the start dates??? I can barely get a straight answer out of HR so me knowing if the start dates of changed is unlikely.

also that mom posted that her daughter was hired for july 11 and then posted that her daughter was looking for a roommate for the aug cohort. totally confusing...
