Just wanted to know if anyone here got an e-mail invitation on Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad Program. I had my phone interview with them on December 29th. I received my e-mail today inviting me to the hiring event Open House for the Program on January 19th. I'm soooo nervous. It's been almost a year since I graduated and I finally got my first in-person interview! It's been so hard on all of us graduates! Let's hope for the best!
do you believe her? So many people already got called, that's the reason why I don't believe what they are telling us.
What's taking longer than they expected are probably the background/reference checks they're doing on the people they offered a job. Until they're done with that, I guess they can't say they're done with the selection because if someone don't pass then they have to pull people from the waiting list. This is what I think it's happening......
Oops I emailed her too. She said it's taking longer than they expected to make the selection. Exactly what they told me on the phone.

Hmm. Not sure. It could be that but how come the last applicants for the last few programs at least heard within a week?... I'm staying positive just because when I talked to my dad about it (he does the hiring process at his work) he said that sometimes you hit road blocks in the process; for example, not everyone is agreeing on the selected people or something. I will not cry until I get my rejection! :)
I totally agree with dienne and murse2244 that they are done with the selection process. After my friend from HR called me, I was in the denial and anger stages.. I've already cried out last weekend about not being chosen for the new grad program.. Maybe by some miracle, someone fails to pass the background check, and I get chosen as a replacement! Who knows?? What matters is that we continue to look for other opportunities whever they may be...
I am not going to lie. I really wanted to work for cedars and I still do but as days pass by I feel there is less chance of getting hired. It's good to think of alternate plans if we get a denial email. But till the email I still have some hope left. Life brings unexpected things... I say don't give up just yet.
Geeze... So much negativity on this thread. I still think they're not done with the selection process because I know of a lot of people who went to the interview without a license, but showed Cedars their confirmation for the NCLEX exam (of when they were to take the exam). I'm thinking that just maybe Cedars is waiting to see if those people received their license before calling
Many times I lost hope with Cedars, and I still managed to get this far. I emailed RL when people were getting phone interviews, so I thought for sure I wouldn't get called. No one even bothered to send me an email back. Out of nowhere, a month or so after sending my email, Cedars called me for the phone interview. I never even got a warning. Mind you, due to lack of preparation, I thought I bombed the phone interview. I got the invitation for the actual interview much later than most other people. I constantly gave up hope, and they constantly gave me hope. Unless I get a rejection email (or my folder in the mail), I'm not going to think of the "realistic thoughts" that would otherwise bring down my day because I honestly expect this from Cedars.
I didn't mean to bring down anyone and I'm sorry if I did. I tend to be a realistic and analytic person.
But if you still have hopes and it makes you feel better, then by any means keep believing, Cedars might surprise you once again!
I was positive until I started to hear about the list being ready since last Friday and people being called for the August start, now I prefer to be ready for the worst, I deal better with disappointments this way but again I didn't mean to bring you down

I think their next new grad program will be sometime in the winter and I think you can apply if by then you still don't have any RN experience and if your graduation date is less than 1 year old.
As I already suggested on this thread, you may want to apply to regular RN positions and not only to new grads program so you'll have more chances of finding a job.
