Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad 2011

Just wanted to know if anyone here got an e-mail invitation on Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad Program. I had my phone interview with them on December 29th. I received my e-mail today inviting me to the hiring event Open House for the Program on January 19th. I'm soooo nervous. It's been almost a year since I graduated and I finally got my first in-person interview! It's been so hard on all of us graduates! Let's hope for the best!

well I guess they're really done then. Unless someone turns down the offer I think we can just forget about Cedars........too bad because it is really an amazing hospital.

It's really hard and competitive to get jobs as new grads, if I can give you a word of advice is to not limit yourself with new grads programs only. Apply to regular RN positions, even if it says experience preferred. Yes I know it's ideal to start in a new grad program but it's definetely not the only way.

Today I had my first day of orientation at this hospital in San Diego and there were at least 5 or 6 new grads so there are jobs out there even if they're very few......

I agree, keep positive and think about the people that are going to turn down Cedars bc they accepted elsewhere! There's still a possibility some of you will get a call!

I know we all are hearing so many things so I will add to the mix... I emailed RL this morning and she said that they are not done with the selection process.... That is all she said no info on when they'll be done or anything ... So take it for what you will I guess

Thats funny you say that b/c I emailed her when I woke up this AM and she told me the same thing... I hope everybody isn't bombarding her w/ emails...

LOL - I just called and left a message. Also, I feel if they knew last Friday, we should have received our packets in the mail by now - and we haven't. Kinda hoping we never do! Yes, I'm still hoping and doing my best to stay positive - even though I feel like I'm overdue for a good cry

Yeah to be honest I have been really busy the past two weeks with my in-laws in town so I didn't have time to think about the interview, let alone check this thread so now that they left I checked the thread this morning and immediately became extremely depressed. I felt so good about the interview....

I am thinking it is exactly what was said earlier, that all the position are filled but they may be waiting to hear from a few people or something along those lines.... I hate to be a downer but w/ what has been said already it's tough not to...

I agree with you, they probably have a waitlist of people they'll call if someone turns down the offer or doesn't pass background/reference check........

If they had the list one week ago, I am sure they already called everyone.....

I agree with you completely. I guess the problem I have with this is that everyone who didn't make the cut and is waiting to hear back is just waiting very anxiously and nervously and I feel they could have gone through the process faster.

I actually think they were pretty fast. I have applied to many new grads programs and jobs and have been rejected from so many that I can unfortunately compare

Some hospitals don't even send you a rejection e-mail, some they send it after months. We'll see how soon Cedars will notify us that we were not selected. I might already have my porfolio waiting in my mailbox but I won't be home since Wednesday so I won't know.....

I hear you and I guess now it is just a waiting game to be disappointed.... So if we don't make the cut can we re-apply for their next grad program??? Does anyone know?
