Cedars-Sinai New Grad Program Spring 2017

U.S.A. California

Hey nursing world,

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who has applied to the Cedars-Sinai New Grad Program in Los Angeles for a start in February of 2017 (I believe).

I haven't seen any threads, thus far.

Can anyone who has gone through the second round of interviews give an insight into what kinds of questions they asked?

Could anyone give any insight about what the Prophecy Skills Assessment was like?

Did anyone apply for the November start date? And hear back from them after the skills assessment?

Yes... applied and was emailed on Sept 22 for an interview next week.

Congrats!! Im thinking that means I didnt get one, was expecting an email regardless.

Does anyone know what the floors are at Cedars?

Hey Jazzminh,

Did you notice in the interview invitation email they ask you to include "one department of your choice" in your portfolio cover letter, but then on the new grad residency info page on the Cedars website it states all nursing residents will start in med-surg. This is confusing. Do you know if we're able to choose anything other than med-surg?

Hey Everyone! I have the Skills Assessment and Oneway Video Interview coming up and was wondering if you could give some insight into what to expect. I'm in the middle of finals and any additional help would be SO appreciated because I have very little extra time to research! The skills assessment is suppose to be 2-3 hours long and I have no idea what to expect! Is it one long test or multiple tests? Are the one-way interview questions the normal "Why Cedars?" "Name a time you...." type of questions?

Thank you, thank you, thank you- in advance. :)

For the most recent cohort, they didn't do a video interview. You applied, then got notified if you needed to take the prophecy tests (I suggest studying pharm and med/surg topics, like warfarin/hep antidotes, hypotonic v hypertonic, etc... basically nclex questions), and if you get in the "A/B" range they'll invite you for a in person interview. The tests also include personality tests, logic tests, and interpersonal communication tests... can't really study for those, just read all the instructions very carefully. From what I understand, out of ~500 applicants about 80 got in that A/B range (so study!) The cohort took about 37ish people.

@jazzminh Thank you! Could you take each test at separate times or does it need to be done in one chunk?

You can break it up. They all just needed to be completed within a week or so.

Hi all. I'm new to AllNurses... I'm sure it's been brought up, but I'm wondering if someone who's gone through the Cedars Sinai video interview process can tell me what to expect. Am I given questions via email to answer? Or am I live chatting with someone? Can you remember any of the questions? Kinda panicking!!!
