CCBC 2011 Fall petitioners

U.S.A. Maryland

Hi, everyone. I just finished my prereqs. last semester. I am planning on petitioning for CCBC online program in Catonsville, and also Harford community college's accelerated program. Starting to study for the

Teas V exams. Would love to talk to any other new petitioners. Let's walk this journey together! Also, if there are any other nursing students who are attending CCBC or Harford who can offer any advice, I would love to hear some!

I've seen a few people who said they heard around the end of April, or first week of May, so hopefully they're on the ball especially with the applications being online now. I can't imagine it would take as long as it used to now that everything is online. :-)

Hi Fellow CCBC Fall Petitioners,

This is my first time applying to the Nursing program. Trying for evenings at Essex. Passed the TEAS and sitting in Micro. I am addicted! I am checking my Simon account Daily for the Seat fee. Need a miracle.....

I heard there were 500 applicants but as someone said hopefully it's because anyone can apply online this year and it may be people applying without complete apps. Career change for me and just need to get in the field to help people.Tired of the same mundane 9-5. I am hoping to become a Public/Community Health RN. My aunt traveled all around the country and loved it! She is now retired in a condo in Manhattan. She got her BSN at 63. She does not look a day over 50! Nursing was her passion and it kept her young.

Good luck everyone! I am praying daily. The Health field needs a Few Good nurses and I believe we fit the bill :) Especially after sacrificing as much as we have to come this far!!:)))))))

The wait is a Doozy, but it's almost here. After Spring break, they are probably going to grind it out and post!!!!!

I think it'll all be a downhill race after spring break. It's also worth mentioning that there are other programs that have an April deadline which means MORE applications will be sent through online which will make their work load harder, so maybe that'll be a good thing for them to finish and get the letters out.

But at least we're almost half way through April! Not long now. :-) I'm stalking my Simon like a mad woman.

Oh, and apparently other people in previous semesters have called the SHP office to ask when the letters would go out. *shrugs* I dug around on this forum a bit and found a few threads mention that someone was told by someone in the office that letters would go out on May 3 (last year).

kjh- thanks for that post about your aunt. that is pretty interesting. i have met lots of "mature" nurses and it seems like people are staying healthier and working well into the later years of their life (whether they want to or not!). that is why i am doing nursing- to always have good work to do and not work in a cubicle, no matter where i end up. i am a bit older, but not so much as your aunt. i have been really fortunate to have a posse of women in my pre-reqs that are also a bit older so never felt out of place. although i must say the younger students have been really friendly- i think it is just not an odd thing anymore to be in classes with older folk. wasn't always the case.

Just in case everyone here hasn't been following the other thread- it seems that decisions have been made for most programs- you can check your status online by looking at your Admissions application status in Simon. Good luck!!
