CCAC Spring 2015 Hopefuls

Hi All!

Just sending out a good luck huzzah to everyone applying for the Spring 2015 cohort at the Community College of Allegheny County.

We can start applying tomorrow and the the deadline is August 15.

I am all done with my pre-reqs and co-reqs, so am excited to get this application process rolling. I am going tomorrow to meet with an advisor to be sure all of my ducks are in a row.

Anyone else out there applying?

I have my registration session at Boyce on Thursday. The packet didn't say to call and confirm. About how long is the registration session?

I think it depends. For allegheny we have dec. 9th one during the day and then for the night from 4-6pm and the uniform fitting the same day till 6pm

well CCAC south didn't send out a packet, got a call today i missed Mondays orientation, even though i called numerous times and last week asked again. was told when they decided they would let me know.. then she said she called me and emailed me but when i told her i never received anything she stated, that's weird your not even on my list.... so now im going in next week on Monday to register, hope i didn't miss anything important

well CCAC south didn't send out a packet, got a call today i missed Mondays orientation, even though i called numerous times and last week asked again. was told when they decided they would let me know.. then she said she called me and emailed me but when i told her i never received anything she stated, that's weird your not even on my list.... so now im going in next week on Monday to register, hope i didn't miss anything important

For those of you who have gone to registration day, do register while at the campus or can you schedule online? Wish me luck on getting a good schedule. :)

Yea she just kept asking me if my stuff was completed from the website. I kept telling her it will be but idk. I just wish there was better communication. Or even a message board thruthe school, like idk blackboard, where we could all askquestions and they could just replay to one.....

The registration process took me about an hour and my number was called about halfway through. The lottery is a little stressful but at least it's fair. They want you to take your clinical after your labs, so just be aware of that because I had to switch my preference in schedules last minute. Two of the options were closed when I went up to pick. I also went up to the bookstore to price out books but they didn't have a finalized list yet. The lady there said it would be around $1400 and they weigh about 35 lbs so she suggested bringing someone to help carry them. A lot of the people I talked to seemed to have one problem or another with the whole process, but hopefully after registration it will be smooth sailing.

If u don't mind me asking. Is the 1400 for 1 semester, I believe it is but just checking. Also what courses are u taking?

I had my registration at Boyce today. I got exactly what I wanted. Good luck everyone! Now to figure out how to pay for books!

$1400 will be for the first semester nursing books only, as I'm only taking those 2 classes. She did say this is the most we will have to pay for books because we will use them throughout the next 2 years.
