CCAC Spring 2015 Hopefuls

Hi All!

Just sending out a good luck huzzah to everyone applying for the Spring 2015 cohort at the Community College of Allegheny County.

We can start applying tomorrow and the the deadline is August 15.

I am all done with my pre-reqs and co-reqs, so am excited to get this application process rolling. I am going tomorrow to meet with an advisor to be sure all of my ducks are in a row.

Anyone else out there applying?

Do you have the number for the secretary, I cant find any numbers on my papers. thanks

Hi everyone! I'm new to this and just wanted to ask a quick question. I haven't done my CPR certification yet and was wondering how I go about doing that. I live in Shadyside and wasn't sure if there's anywhere I could go to get it done quickly before the deadline. Thanks for any help! :)

I did mine at Start the Heart in Wexford. You get your card on the spot. It was a drive but the class is good. Dont do the online one, it won't be accepted. They have a course this Saturday 10-1:30. They offer free drinks (coffee, tea) and give you a chocolate and it's pretty relaxed. I would register today in case it fills up with other people also rushing last minute. Good luck!

I had the Hep B series done in Nov. 2008 got the third in May 2009. Certified Background rejected because I did not get the post vaccination 1-2 months after 3rd dose. I am going to email the secretary and see what my PCP can do. I hope it doesn't hold me back. Any insight?

Also, for each shot or vaccination, do we just upload the same document we had our doctor fill out? I think that's kinda weird that we have to do it more than once. But I wasn't sure! And I had the TB test done but won't have the second one done by the 8th, hopefully that isn't enough to have my spot taken away, very nervous!

It's so last minute at this point, I recommend you call the nursing department and ask them your questions regarding immunizations and TB test. Good luck!

Does anyone know when we take the drug test? I know they said the week of the 20th but It's on a Saturday and I didn't know if they ment before or after

anyone having an issue getting ahold of a human on the phone? I keep calling to confirm my spot and keep getting a voice mail and no return phone call.
