CCAC FALL 2019 Hopefuls!

Published

I'm putting this page up pretttty early but only because I'm excited lol. I wanted to create a place for those applying next spring for fall 2019 to start to be able to talk about our journeys as we finish pre reqs or Co reps(all non nursing courses)for those shooting for the fast track at Boyce like myself! I'm currently for finishing up a summer semester of intermediate Algebra, intro to psych, and English 102. In the fall I'll be taking A&P 2 and human development, then finish off all non nursing courses with A&P 2 in spring 2019 and microbiology in summer 2019 just before fall start 😊. Where are you at on your journey?

Those of you that ordered your uniforms already, how long did it take to get them in? I didn't have the money until today to order them and I'm worried mine won't be back in time for my first clinical.

There was just an e-mail about this, check your ccac email.

Mine took like over a month to come in.

Anyone else still dealing with Castlebranch's BS? I'm still waiting for them to review my Hep B! I've called multiple times and I get the run around. I can't take these people! I have no idea why the school would deal with them. It's ridiculous!

I dont know if this is how this works. But I'm doing the Boyce fasttrack night evening program and I got an email today that they changed my schedule. I was one of the first people to schedule and just want to know if anyone else has received this email.

Did anyone receive their classes information on blackboard today? And did anyone get the books, if so, how much was it? And what kind of shoes should I get, I’m male?

Keep calling and doing what you can, nobody likes to be a bother, but we're getting down to the wire here.

My drug test came back a few minutes ago which was my last thing to complete. If this is anything like my old employer (government job) I'll be sent back for another one. I was "Dilute Negative" which either means you were well hydrated or tried to cheat the system. I need a rolling eye emoji here... too much coffee that morning will probably end up costing me a retest fee.

My result was also "Dilute Negative" ? I didn't know what that meant until I saw this. I pretty much live on coffee and drank a LOT of water before going in to make sure I was ready to go and would be in and out as quick as possible.. I don't have any concern about passing a drug test but boy would that be a bummer to have to pay for anything else at this point after everything I've already spent trying to expedite the process to get all the bloodwork and testing done by the 24th because i was so concerned ? .... I spent $100 for expedited Hep B titers... $135 for an MMR booster I didn't think I'd need... $60 for Hep C.. $30 for the physical.. How much would another drug test even be? Have they requested you take another one yet?

Has anyone from North campus heard where their clinical site will be? I finally got my CB stuff done, with the help of PSusi. I wonder if they'll tell us on the 14th.

If I remember right Mrs. Schneider said we'd have that information during orientation on the 14th.

@pickles23 they haven’t contacted me about needing to retest. From what other people have said, it’s 70 bucks to retest so hopefully neither of us have to. I’m the same as you, I wouldn’t care if they needed another I just don’t want to pay for it.

@medic112 I agree, and wow, that is a lot.. I really would like to know if we need to or not. I'm still waiting to hear what books will cost and need a stethoscope and shoes! If you end up having to retest and pay for it (or on the flip side, don't have to), please let me know!

Which campus are you at? I’m at Allegheny and my books were about 800 and the clinical backpack was 140 ?
