CCAC FALL 2019 Hopefuls!

Nursing Students School Programs

I'm putting this page up pretttty early but only because I'm excited lol. I wanted to create a place for those applying next spring for fall 2019 to start to be able to talk about our journeys as we finish pre reqs or Co reps(all non nursing courses)for those shooting for the fast track at Boyce like myself! I'm currently for finishing up a summer semester of intermediate Algebra, intro to psych, and English 102. In the fall I'll be taking A&P 2 and human development, then finish off all non nursing courses with A&P 2 in spring 2019 and microbiology in summer 2019 just before fall start 😊. Where are you at on your journey?

Hi!

I'm in the process of getting my classes together for Jan. I have a BS currently and I spoke with a academic advisor yesterday actually so my classes will be taken all out of wack, so hopefully it doesn't effect my chances of getting into the program. I will be taking BIO 110, The math class, and the PSY 108 in Jan. And in the summer the CHEM LAB, AP1 and Mirco. So I would just have AP2 because I already completed the rest of the supporting classes. I have the study guide for ATI TEAS but I read in another thread that those scores don't even count towards acceptance which is weird. But I still wanna do good on it. It is early but I'm excited! I hope everything goes smoothly.

P.S The advisor at CCAC told me that I can still apply in Jan with no problem. And she sounded hopefully so *crosses fingers*

Hello! It’s nice to have a page where we can all meet/talk. Right now I am at north campus taking Microbiology and A&P 2. I’m applying for the nursing program for fall 2019, first choice being north campus day. I just applied so I can’t wait to hear back! They said we should know within the next 2 1.5 months. Hopefully it goes quick!! :D

I just applied for Fall 2019. Currently I am taking A&P 1 and Micro. I will be taking A&P 2 in the summer. I have a 3.8 GPA and I scored an 88.7 on the TEAS. I would like to do the Boyce fast track program.

hi everyone. My first choice of campus is South day. Taking A&P1 right now, will be taking Micro and A&P2 in the summer. The rest of co-reqs are done. I went to take my TEAS exam with very little prep. Screwed up the Anatomy questions, scored 78. They told me that's a good score and that I shouldn't retake it. Good luck to us all.

HI there! I recently applied for Fall 2019, Allegheny Campus being my first choice. I'm currently taking A&P 1, Human Growth and Dev., Eng 102, and Math 108. In the summer I'll take A&P 2 and Micro and I think there's an elective fulfillment I need to take too. I took the TEAS back in April 2018. I scored pretty highly in reading, writing, and math but bombed the science portion (I didn't prep and until last fall hadn't been in a science class since high school 2010) so my score was 75. Currently maintaining a 4.0 gpa, though. Good luck to everyone else in this process.

I also applied for Fall admission. I'm hoping to get into the North Campus day program. I'm currently getting ready to start my humanities class on March 11th. Good luck to everyone!!

Wow everyone here has super high GPAs and Teas scores! I have a 3.45 and scored a 72 even, and thought I was sitting pretty lol I'm so so excited to find out if I'm in! I'm currently in A&P 1 with Wallace (send help) Growth and Development, and Socio. I'm taking Micro and 108 in the summer. I'm feeling antsy and excited to hear back from admissions :)

I've also applied for Fall 2019. I'm applying for LPN-RN bridge at Allegheny in the evenings (the only evening option for the bridge, so I was told). I took the TEAS last Thursday and scored an 80.7, but my GPA could be higher. Unfortunately I'm a "non-traditional" student and screwed around right out of high school in the 90's. I went to the informational but didn't quite get if the LPN's are chosen separate or pooled in with everyone else or what. Guess just like you guys it will just be a waiting game to see. These next few weeks is going to be excruciating. Good Luck ALL.

I think I’m going to Apply for spring 2020 so I can pace myself more. Those who took the TEAS test, how hard was it? I heard if you A&P 1 you have a better chance at passing and I’ll be taking that in the summer. I just wanna have all my non nursing classes finished before I apply so I can get the extra points on my application.

I studied a lot for the math because it's my worst subject. It was a lot of cross multiplication, conversion type stuff. The science section absolutely would have been easier with A&P. I took the TEAS before I'd taken a&p and a lot of it is not common knowledge. The overall test isn't too bad.

Thank you for your reply!
