I am really excited to begin a position as a mental health consultant for the civil rights organization the National Rifle Association (NRA) protecting our constitutional rights.  Now that my finances are set for life I am taking a step back from my PMHNP Private practice putting my patient load on 2 new employees I am planning on devoting more time to advocacy.

Why does the NRA need a mental health consultant? Do they need counseling to help them deal with thought of dead schoolchildren murdered by the weapons of war they fight so hard to keep legal?

I find it hard to believe a mental health professional is not familiar with NAMI.

"Now that my finances are set for life"....sounds like it was written by George Santos.  This whole thread is a literal joke by the OP looking for a response.

That particular financial claim is consistent among these questionable accounts.

Firearms have always been widely available at the levels they are currently at.  Gun violence has little to do with availability of guns and more to do with mental health which is why the NRA is helping expand their civil rights platform towards mental health awareness. I have over 300 firearms in my household locked away safely and the only blood they have spilled is deer, duck, turkey, and big horn sheep.

While its alarming that we have now had 13 or so mass school shootings in the last 50 years the vast majority of gun homicides come from urban areas which are "gun free zones" but little attention is brought to this matter.  As for keeping firearms legal its more important than ever considering the rise in violent crime and the lefts pro crime platform.  With the rise of alt left extremism and authoritarianism our 2nd amendment rights are more important than ever.

As for NAMI I am not familiar with them but I will look into them

Uh oh.  Another bot.  I've seen no evidence from this one that they have any knowledge of nursing, much less psych nursing.

You really think a "bot" visits a nursing forum?  Can you not understand that not everyone aligns with your views?

As for my Psych nursing knowledge I think my Post Masters PMHNP Certificate from FSU says otherwise as well as my clientele who are happy with the care I provide.

Specializes in oncology.

We have had so many members here who have impressive claims "I have a million dollars in rental real estate",  "10 high end cars" and now "300 firearms"! They always disappear after a month or two after their bravado runs it's course. Remember the guy who had an English father that was PALS with every billionaire in Europe?

I am simply pointing out the fact that the millions of firearms that exist in the United States are from people such as myself.  This gun collection was my fathers and my grandfathers before his.  It is mostly cowboy guns like the 100 year old Marlin 30 30 I am about to take out to go deer hunting or my Colt 357 Trooper that stays in my center console at all times.

Why don't you criticize the members attacking out constitutional rights and putting peoples lives in danger?  What would have happened to Kyle Rittenhouse if he wasn't open carrying?  Would you rather the young man be raped and murdered by 3 violent ANTIFA members?

Thank you for illustrating my point.

There is a much better way to deal with our constitutional rights than having 300 guns. I work within my community to ensure our constitutional rights...never needed a gun for it though.  What are you doing to prevent putting peoples lives in danger?

What is your point?  That millions of law abiding citizens such as myself hold 99.9% of the firearms in this nation and have never harmed a soul?

I am now working with the NRA in bringing mental health awareness as well and helping protect our connotational right to bear arms, the same right that has saved millions of lives throughout the history of the United States.  We need to look at the slippery slope of firearm control, look at what happened to the people of Canada.  They now have an authoritarian dictator going as far as attempting to disarm hunters.  We cannot let the people of this nation be oppressed, we must stand and fight for our rights and our freedom.

Do you remember a new grad psych nurse on AN who was making $250,000 per year doing tele care from a little house at the end of a dirt road in Wyoming (Freedom!)?  Yeah, right.

How many message boards do you visit to slander 100+ year old civil rights organizations?  Organizations much more known than some niche mental health org
