Career opportunity teaching electronic medical records

Published

Specializes in LTC, Hospice, Case Management.

I have a phone interview this week with a popular electronic medical record company as an instructor. Anyone with any experience with this type of position? Any pointers? Any pros/cons? At this point I'm not even sure what questions to ask.

FYI - This company focuses on long term care which I have plenty of experience in as well as this is the same med rec company my employer contracts with so I have a good understanding of the system.

Specializes in retired LTC.

I'm envious - GO FOR IT!!!!

If I had one question, I'd ask about any on-call trouble-shooting responsibility. Like any phone calls at 3am because a computerily-challenged nurse, like myself, is ready to take an axe to the machine?

I once taught in a little private-for-profit business school, and I loved the teaching piece.

Good luck!

Sounds awesome! I agree that I would ask about on call requirements. Best of luck!!!

I taught the Meditech program in the 90's at a hospital in Florida. This was a hospital position not for the actual Meditech company. It wasn't bad..you just have to be ok with doing a lot of the same thing over and over and have patience for those who are not fast or computer literate. Worth a try!
