Can't study for the NCLEX anymore

Published

I'm taking the NCLEX on Oct 2nd (next mon) and i'm in my last week and i can't seem to study anymore. I took Kaplan and have been doing all the questions, reading rationales and studying some content. But i totally didn't get give my all. I think i need better studying habits and more discipline but I just can't make myself do it. And on top of that i sarted working 2 weeks ago and now i'm too tired to study when i get home. Some days i feel confident and that i can pass. and then i read stories about people that study like crazy and still fail. Am i doomed to fail too?

I know how you feel. How have you been doing on the Kaplan exams. As long as your reading the rationales for right and wrong answers, you'll be fine. Good luck!

I hear ya! I'm praying for you! Do what you can even if you think it's minimal, you never know what will be on your test, it might just make the difference! Best Wishes, I'll be taking mine on Oct 4th!

I too take my RN exam Oct.2. and I'm all studied out. When I was studying for my LPN boards I studied everywhere, on the bus, on the train and in the bathroom. Now when I try to study like that it don't click like it use to. But I'm hopeful that we'll do great. Stay positive and do you best.

I can relate, I take my PNNCLEX tomorrow, I am scared to death I constantly feel my stomach doing flip flops, everyone tells me I will do fine and I know that if I'm smart enough to graduate from the hard VN program I can pass this NCLEX. I hate to sound like I'm whining but I AM scared to death of this test. But maybe if we all believe the Lord set us in this path he will pull us through it. Good luck to anyone getting ready to take the test.

i feel so scared too about this test too. My brain feels fried and i feel i know nothing. i test next week too. i know exactly how you feel. We just have to create some positive energy for each other through this forum.

calm down, take a deep breath and relax, all the best guys, I will be praying for all of you.

That was me three days ago. I was also so no sure whether I was ready and moved my testing time back and forth a hundred times. I am glad it is finally over now.

Something helped me to calm a little bit was to give myself a goal everyday(such as reaching a certain percentage, or cover certain amt of content review, or study certain hours). If I could reach the goal I would give myself a break. Hope that helps.

I wish that I could smoke when I take my test again in two weeks (just kidding). Actually, I quit a year ago, and then started up again after I failed in July. I do plan to stop again after I pass and the NCLEX drama is finally over with.

LOL, this nclex makes people addicted to things, hear me out, I started a diet plan on feb 26, and lost over 30 add pounds, but since I started to study for the nclex, I gained back eveything, because I munch all the while, and guess what am still munching, and gaining the weight, LOL. I guess I will go back to the gym when I have the money to pay for it, when I get a job, take care all the best to all the future test takers.

Sometimes, the brain goes on overload. There is no real preparation for the exam because we have NO idea what they will ask. It is okay to give yourself a break if needed. Also, they do advise that at least two days before the exam it is time to close the books, because at that point, you have done all that you can do, and seeing anymore confusing information will not produce positive results. I wish the very best to all of you!

i am taking it on oct 2nd too. i have been reviewing for about 1 month non stop while on maternity leave. i have done saunders, kaplan, and mosby priority book. i too am tired of reviewing. i think i am going to do more questions today and tomorrow and then i am done. i am not going to open up a book again. i am going to a fair on saturday and have a family get together on sunday so i am going to relax and clear my brain before monday morning. good luck, and some some good luck vibes my way! kristen
