Hey guys,

I'm applying to Langara for the fall 2018 intake. Just wondering if there's anyone else on here that's applying too?

You'll probably get in eventually! Did you repeat any courses, if you don't mind me asking? I'm really curious because they always say that they only take the 5 pre reqs into consideration and yet people with slightly lower gpa are getting in first

This is my first time applying to langara and I didn't repeat any of the required courses.

I think if I were you I'd email the department secretary and ask them to check what gpa they have down for you & where you are on the wait list. Fingers crossed for you!

I've been trying to phone them since thursday, but I'll be emailing them as well about it. Thank you and yes hopefully I get in this intake!

Hello! I got waitlisted for the fall 2018 intake :( But I've been told that the January intake is usually less competitive? Is it true?

In my opinion, I think the reason why september is more competitive than January is because most students go back to school during fall, thus making it "more competitive" than January. Idk if that makes sense :/

The Langara advisors said it's pretty equal, so fingers crossed that January 2019 just has less applicants. I think it just depends from intake to intake. Some intakes just have higher GPAs & degree holders than others.

Just FYI for those starting in September, since last year the First Aid CPR required is HCP

On the Langara website in the requirements checklist it still says CPR C but that changed last year. If you did First Aid CPR C you'd have to do a one day course to get the HCP certificate.

Is there a Facebook group created? I tried to search "Langara Nursing Group Fall 2018" but haven't been able to find it.
