Can student nurses make changes within the healthcare setting?

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Im a student nurse in my 3rd year and on my final placement at the moment. Im looking at ways to promote/influence change that can improve patient care, things that can benefit the nurse or patient or both. I want to be able to influence the nurses and HCA's and leave a lasting impact in a good way.

Any suggestions would be great. Or any literature that you may have come across that I can use.

Thank you in advance

We are happy to help with homework but we need to know what your research has shown you and what you think would good to facilitate this.....

What do you have in mind? Have you looked at any PICOT studies on this? We can't even outline your paper for you :) so tell us what you think after doing some reading on your topic.

I am assuming this really is an assignment, and not the overreaching of someone with delusions of grandeur. :) Do let us know if we are wrong on that.

This is not for an assignment or an exam. I'm doing a presentation on Influencing change and as Im on placement at the moment I was looking at any areas I could change within an already very well run ward. That I could evaluate and include in my work. I plan to apply for a job on this ward when one comes up in the near future so want my change to be able to work. thanks

Would recommend that you tread verrrrrry carefully with that. Bluntly, new grads don't have any business coming in like gangbusters trying to change a unit. If it's already a well-run unit, so much the more. Good luck but really-- softly, softly catchee monkey and all that.
