Apply for the job. List that you have a BLS certification. You'll likely get the card in the mail before any potential interviews. If you do get an interview before you get your card, simply explain that you took the class last week and passed, and your card has not come in the mail yet. Tell them you can provide them with a copy as soon as it arrives. If you're really worried about it you could ask the instructor of the course to email you a receipt and a statement saying you completed and passed the course.
great.

I agree with Clovery, thats the best way. Never start off with a lie or any deception.

another option is to ask your BLS instructor to write a short note that you passed but that the cards are not yet mailed.

That's how I would handle it... state that you're very recently BLS certified and that you haven't received the card from your instructor yet. A note from your instructor probably wouldn't hurt at all! Just make sure that you update your file with them as soon as you do receive your card.

I'd apply and just let them know you haven't received your card yet. If you haven't received it in 2 weeks, call the instructor since it isn't that hard to print up a bunch of cards unless the training center forgot to order them (yeah AHA is kind of crazy where only the training coordinator can order them). That happened to a person I checked off and unfortunately no one had access to the cards since the coordinator had an unexpected health emergency and the other one who knew where the cards for the hospital were was off for surgery.
thing is i got certified at my job which is an assisted living facility. the boss paid for an EMT instructor to come certify us. they had it listed on the calendar as cpr certification but i asked the instructor and he said it was bls training for AHA
what do I do if.i don't get my card in time before my interview?
AHA gives the training center up to a month to get the cards mailed. That is why talking to the instructor makes sense, as the instructor can deal personally with the training center coordinator. Our coordinator does not print cards by request. They are done whenever she has time to process the whole class and that can be a week or two.

I do not think this is a big deal. Go to the interview say your new card has not arrived yet.
