Here at AN we ask that ALL STUDENTS show what their research has revealed to them before helping the student with their homework. Allnurses believes in helping students become the best nurse they can be and that is not by giving answers. Knowing how you answer any particular question tells us where you might be getting mixed up and help you find good references for looking up these kinds of questions. Giving any student the answer does not help that student learn the material.A nurse is caring for a client who has been prescribed potassium wasting diuretic medication. What semester are you? Are you in a 2 year for 4 year program? What do YOU think the answer is based on your research?
I'll take a crack at it...I have my ideas odlf what the answers are, but this is how I figured it out..
Question 1:
It says your client has a potassium wasting duiretic. The client is losing potassium. You need to know which foods are high in potassium to figure this out.
Question 2:
This patient has an iron deficiency. Now you need to know what causes iron deficiency, and how to enhance its absorption.
Good luck! I never took nutrition as a pre-req, hut these were easy enough to confirm with google.
