You should contact the school. I want to go on for my masters. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. When I started nursing school I started to freak thinking it would significantly lower my GPA (I ended up actually raising it). I contacted the masters program and asked them how strict the GPA was. They told me they looked at other stuff like experience and volunteer work. I imagine a BSN program is a little different as it is very competitive and generally people are selected with the highest GPAs so a 3.0 might not even be selected...
if the minimum is 3.0 and you don't even have that, what do you think your chances are of getting in? here, the minimum is 3.0 but no one gets in below 3.4 and even that is VERY rare. i'm just trying to be realistic, i don't know how competitive the schools in your area are though, and i wish you the best of luck :)
The minimum to apply is a 3.0 but what do they cut off their acceptance at? For nursing, it's generally in the mid 3.0's and up. I would say to keep trying to raise your GPA or go to a school that looks at other aspects of the applicant so you have a better chance. Also, they usually only take completed grades, not grades that might turn out to be a certain way later.
Good luck and keep trying!
I'd contact the school.
I got into my ABSN program with a 3.01 undergrad (they require a 3.0 minimum undergrad, as well) and a 3.3 in nursing pre-reqs. I start NS in the summer, so I was able to get into my program with that GPA given the number of increasing applicants.
It can definitely be done, but since you may need a 3.0 at the time that you apply, it'd be best to just ask the school.

Hi All,
I was wondering if someone can help me with my scenario.....actually I'm applying to Accelerated BSN and some ADN programs. I see that a lot of schools require an overall GPA of 3.0....I'm getting my bachelor's in summer. Right now my overall GPA is 2.98 but I'm taking a few classes that I'm doing well in and I'm positive that my GPA will rise to 3.0-3.1 range. Well, my question is that when schools say minimum 3.0, does it really have to be minimum 3.0 to apply...even though by the time I finish it'll be that and also I don't wanna wait another year to apply after my grades post. I'm applying to schools that don't require a 3.0 as well, but really concerned about the ones whose minimum is 3.0. Has anyone been in this situation before? Can you help? Thanks in advance!!
