Can I take prereqs from 2 different colleges?

Published

 Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to get the necessary requisites for a nursing program in Las Vegas, NV.

The only thing is the Math prereq class at CSN is full for the summer, so I was wondering of it was possible to take the Math class at NSC. Since I've already paid for the English composition 1 at CSN ($219 :uhoh3: ), is it possible to apply to both nursing programs with credits from different colleges?

As long as each college accepts course credits from the other, it should be fine.

You can contact their admissions offices to find out for sure.

Some nursing departments, though, prefer certain pre-requisites to be taken at their specific campus and may not accept credits from other colleges.

Oh they sure can, just like coffeematecna stated, make sure they are accredited, the classes can transfer to school of choice. I'm going to be concurrently enrolled at two colleges, half of the classes online. I am applying to 4 different schools, so I have to make sure I have all my ducks in a row! :D

:) Thanks everyone, I will ask both colleges just on case. Hopefully, there are online options at other colleges in or out of state just in case NSC Math classes are full.

Just make sure each school has a copy of your transcripts from the other school.

As the others said, as long as they accept transfer credits from those schools, it should be fine. I've got credits from 5 different schools, all but one part of the state university system (and that other one was Syracuse U., so they took those credits, too.) My particular school doesn't mind at all, as long as 50% of my actual credits come from my school and the other schools are "good" schools.

I see that all the time for applicants. However, we want to see the full A&P sequence completed at one school.

In the past we had seen students take A&P 1 from one school, and then A&P 2 from another school. When comparing the curriculum, one student had the circulatory system twice and never covered the nervous or digestive systems!
