Can I still work?

Nursing Students NCLEX

I'm taking the NCLEX-RN on Sept 8th and I am going to pay for Quick Results. Does it show in the results a license number or something, or just whether I passed or not. Can you work if you don't physically have the license? Or do you need to wait however long it takes until you get an actual license?

States are getting away from giving paper licenses. Licensure has to be verified online. Better security and more up to date I guess. ME, NH, and NM do it this way, don't know about others. HR has to verify online themselves.

Depending on the state, there's often no need to pay for quick results. I took NCLEX on May 11th and my RN license number was posted on the BON's website on May 13th.

Your prospective employers verify the status of your license whether you have the physical license or not. So, as soon as you know your status, you can look for work. Once you have the physical license in hand, take it to the HR office of your job and show it to them.

Some people have had their license posted online as quickly as the next day, but you can't count on that to happen. No matter when it is posted, the employer still must verify your license as part of the hiring process.
