Hello Everyone, I am willing your help,
My wife had done B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) and she want to do Nursing in US, since we have visited US once and we are much delighted.
My wife thinking of Nursing after our first visit to US, is it possible to do Nursing ? As she has completed her B.Com 7 years ago, now she is Teacher in Primary High School in India. Age 30. We living in India.
What are the options and how to start with ?
Thanks in Advance,

The US market is flooded with new grads who cannot find jobs. It is hard for many foreign nurses to come here, read on other threads. If you are not a citizen, I'm not sure that you can attend school or sit for boards here. It can be a very long process. I'm not trying to dissuade you, but encouraging you to research the realities
Thank you for the reply, haven't expected so prompt reply....Yes you are right and I am aware there are number of grads who are finding the job. But again US is one of the place where study as its own advantage.
Can you suggest how one can possible do Nursing course? As my wife had done 12th Commerce & B.Com, I have read articles in India that there is no way without 12th Biology you can do nursing course ahead.
So I am stuck to that question, if possible to do after 12th commerce my wife is willing to do. And since she is interested, I don't want to discourage her.
Thanks,

It can be done but it is a long process. I came over from England in 2003 and it took me three years to get here. Now things are even harder and the visa is more difficult to get. I would research companies that can do the visa and license process together for you. There are international travel nurse companies out there if you search. That's how I got here.

Doing nurse training in the US is doable however staying afterwards will be hard. Yes as a student she can use OPT afterwards for 12 months but considering it will take over 10 years currently to get a immigrant visa afterwards you both will need to decide if the expense is worth it. If she comes over on F1 you will get F2 but can not work on it.

Also to add better to ask where she plans on studying what requirements are. There usually are lots of prerequisites to do and you need to check that the school is authorised to take International students
