Due to my “retired” for length of service status, I was subject to recall to active duty in the military until the age of 65. We were told at our retirement briefings that our retired pay was in actuality retainer pay. I have never heard of civilian nurses being forced to work. Or anyone else for that matter. If that were the case, there would be no nurses who want and need to work, out of work. That certainly is not the case. Think someone is worrying a little too much.

1st of all let's drop the hyperbole - Nurses on the front lines are not dropping like flies. In fact there are no statistics currently available to even suggest such a thing. This is the kind of fearmongering we need less of not more. Most facilities have put in place solid guidelines to protect employee's and keep hospitals open and staffed. The OP would be better off securing more toilet paper.

I am a disabled RN. I am wondering can the government force us back to work. It sounds like that is happening with other countries.
