15 years ago in 1998 I made a terrible mistake. I was convicted of a unclassified felony for forgery . I was living out of state in Virgina and in a unstable marriage. I've since moved back home and is divorced from that person. I have been back in NJ for the past 14 years. In 2001 I graduated from an accredited nursing program in NJ. Never took the NCLEX exam because of the criminal record. Does anyone have any advise for me? I would like to be a nurse but not sure if i can.

I have always heard that a felony disqualifies you from nursing as well as many other areas. I would talk to a lawyer perhaps your BON to find out more. Sorry you are dealing with this. If its your dream keep pushing and perusing until you find a way for it to work.

Not in any state I know of. Any felony disqualifies you.
