I'm interested in becoming a cna. Ive worked many jobs and they've been just that, jobs. I'd like to feel actual purpose at work. I'd like to actually help people. Is it a waste of my time and energy thinking like this with a potential DUI with marijuana on my record? It happened early June, got blood drawn and haven't heard anything since. Thinking about this is driving me crazy, I hate uncertainties. Just wondering if I should direct my ambition elsewhere.

Well.... employers are of course going to check your records, and if positions are competitive and you have that DUI, they are of course going to choose the candidate who has a clean record.
However... many nursing homes are understaffed and crying for people, CNA's especially, to apply. Soooooo, you may just catch a break.
Good luck.
The certification shouldn't be a problem?

I'm not sure there's a national standard. It may be dependent on where you're at and what the rules are there. I do know a CNA who got a DUI several years ago. She was employed as a CNA before the DUI and has been trying to change jobs ....but her offers are always withdrawn after the background checks come back. So, even if you do qualify for certification, the DUI can cause you problems.
Sounds like it ain't worth my time. Thanks.

Get an attorney who specializes in DUI cases, don't get a general attorney. Do your research. If you have a proven attorney there is a better chance you can walk the charges or plea for a lesser charge.
Good luck

You are creating your own uncertainties. Find a job as a CNA BEFORE the DUI is on your record.
