Hello! I can't find any LA Sheriff's Dept. nurses on here so I am starting a new thread. I am waiting for my background check to clear, then will work amongst you! What do you like about your job? What don't you like? What are the facilities like? I have many questions about what to expect. Feel free to post about anything r/t LA County Jail Nursing. I have 3-6 months to read your posts!
hello...spoke with my background investigator 2 days ago she stated it is now "just a waiting game" until we get called could be waiting for budget approval, vacancy, a signature etc...so the wait continues....
Thanks for the post. I hope to get either a phone call or letter in the mail too. The medical clearance implies that we are hired, but need to wait for further instructions from the hiring department. It also says that if something happens healthwise to notify them within days or risk disqualification for 'employment'. I'm interpreting this as I'm hired, just need to wait for the next step, which is probably orientation. Hope it will be soon, I'm working registry and am on call for 10 different hospitals and I don't like the cancellations and not knowing where I'll be each day. I'm ready for consistency. (I'm not getting any younger!) :)
Hi all! So I got a letter this week scheduling me for the written exam. I'm applying for nursing assistant (I'm an LVN and most of my exp is home care, vent pts) I have a few questions!! Need help! Is there any way to study for the test? Is it nclex style? Also, what are the nursing assistants job duties? I've spoken with several different ppl that give me different answers. Also, what is the background check like? i have a clean record. Any help is appreciated! I hope this works out.
