Graduated in May 2010. Interviewed that same month for a new grad opening in the acute care hospital where I worked as an NA...was offered the job that same month, and before I took the boards...passed the boards on June 1, and orientation started for my RN job on July 26. I love in Massachusetts.
I had my position before graduating in May and I started a week after I passed the boards in June. I put my resume out early in Feb before the majority of my classmates. I had 2 interviews, the second one was with the hospital that hired me. I live in North Carolina near the Virginia border and I commute up to work (about an hour). I met one of the directors of my department at a Luncheon while I was at clinical. I was told that I impressed him during the Luncheon . . . I STILL don't know what I did. I was polite, didn't interupt him when he was talking and chewed with my mouth closed.
If you are having trouble I would talk to units that you had clinicals at . . . they might be able to put a good word for you and push you resume along.
Good Luck and happy hunting!

Well my fiance is a Roofer. He did a house for a guy who knows the director of patient care. Gave her a call, and she had HR pull my application and get me an interview. This took about a month from time of talking to her and getting the phone call for the interview. I then interviewed on tuesday, and got a job offer (for a different position than the one I interviewed for) on that friday. I put in the application 3 months before the director had them pull my application. So if it weren't for the director, I wouldn't have this job right now.
