Called The Nursing Office Today @ WCCCD So Furious

Published

I just called the nursing office. Ms. N answered the phone just wanted to see if the status on when letteres will be mailed is still the same. Well guess what she said letters won't be mailed until late November early December. What in the hell are they waiting on. This is crazy to have someone waiting like this. It is taking longer this semester than it did for this past fall semester and it was 200-400 people @ each application meeting. I am so sick and tired of this. WCCCD starts registeration on Monday and we still haven't heard from the nursing office. I need to know if I will be taking Nursing classes or college classes. I am just so frustrated with this school right now. Urg.......:banghead::argue::madface:

that is awesome news!!!!! hope it's true. have a good weekend to all wcccd waiting 4 tuesday.

Tuesday is Veteran's Day, does the mail run that day?

that is a good point. i don't think the mail does run tuesday. oh well, guess were looking at wed.

Hi guys, I was accepted 2 years ago (I am alllllll done on the 12th of December:grad::clpty:) I am in MS 4 right now. I remember getting my happy letter between the mid to late November.

Best wishes to all who applied.

Thank you and congrats! Hopefully we will be in your shoes 2 years from now!:balloons:

hi everyone. wanted to say hi, i'm new to this board.

i applied for the fall of 08 and was accepted as an alternate. i didn't get a spot, so i'm in for sure in januray. i still haven't gotten my letter (they say i'm going to get another "happy" letter). my letter wasn't so happy, but getting in for jan is better than not at all.

for the fall of 08, the lowest gpa was 3.70. there were 387 that applied. we got our letters within 30 days of the last application meeting.

thought i would let everyone know. good luck to all!

I know the waiting is frustrating. But it's important to not start this program, as well as any other, with a truly negative view of the school or else your experience will not be pleasant. So try to remain positive because your going to need every bit of it.

Personally speaking as a current student, you may experience last minute changes in this program. I am in my third semester and every single semester the nursing office has either changed my clinical site or lecture times at the last minute to much of my disapproval (mind the fact that I ended up in the top 20 in lottery and had first pick of the litter this past semester). So if your lifestyle doesn't allow flexibility and your easily distraught by what seems to be 'insensitivity' on part of the nursing office, sadly I have to say to go here your going to have to get use to it. Granted this type of thing probably happens at other schools also. Just have to prepare yourself for these unexpected changes.

Again, I know how nerve-wrecking it is to wait for that "happy letter" (I thought I was going to have to replace my mailbox because I checked it like everyday all day), but they do understand you have to get prepared and it will more than likely arrive sooner than you think.

Best wishes to you all and I hope you will be doing a lot of this soon....

thanks for the encourgement and the heads up.

I love this forum.. i leave it up to you guys to call and bug the nursing office about when the letters will go out. Between everyone saying when they called I concluded the letters should go out this week. Thanks

I got my happy letter last year at this time, the waiting is hard but well worth it. Good luck to you all and remember time flies so make the best of it, I am almost half way through. :wink2:

I would be outraged if it this ever happened at my school. Every school has it's faults but to continuously change class times and clinical sites at the last minute is unacceptable. :nono: The staff including the dean will tell us ahead of time if there are any changes prior to the semester begining. Sorry to hear that you have to go through that.

Congrats to those who got their happy letters!!!!!!
