That means that this supervisor is an immature, uneducated ***** to put it in the nicest form. Go back to school is what they have to do and learn some manners. People do get sick from time to time. Maybe she has had it and just took it out on you. Either way is uncalled for that kind of attitude. I tell you, no class. If I were you, I will call her out on it and ask " What exactly you meant by that", even though you might have an idea and see how she answers you. Provide documentation if you went to a doctor and if not take it as a sick or unpaid day. No need to lose a job over that. Been there with bosses that talk to me like I am their child. Angry fire lol. Take is easy and in stride.
Unless your attendance is horrible I don't think they can fire you over something like this. Go to the doctor, get well, go back to work, and if they fire you get a lawyer. If you don't get fired, then just know as you go forward that you have an incredibly unprofessional and immature supervisor and you will probably have to learn to take that in stride. There are so many of them out there.
this supervisor is new on her job...months ago she used to work with us on the floor...I've been hearing a lot from other co-workers about how rude she can get and i haven't really believed it until this phone call... un-freakin-believable...
if i am to be fired because of this immaturity I would not be surprised, as there have been worse things happening in my workplace in the past few months, and a lot of good nurses have either been downgraded from position or fired or asked to resign, I have never seen so much nurses in my life cry over losing the job they love to do and have been doing so for decades...
Go to your doctor, get the Dr's note (if you even need to visit the doctor), and then revisit. Yes, the idiot, flunky fired you. If you work in anything halfway resembling an organization you can appeal this like no other. Heck, you could probably win a law suit over it, but you'll really want the Dr's excuse for that.
But the catch is your past absenteeism.
Some people shouldn't be managers. A lot of supervisors and managers think that they can do whatever, whenever with no awareness of FLSA, sound leadership strategies, documentation, time keeping, record keeping, etc. I have a supevisor now that asks me all this stuff, and it's kind of annoying because she should know. She's never been trained in it, and I left a management position in state organization and had to know it.

i called in sick today as my nausea and vomiting persists, and you know what the supervisor said?
"Goodbye and good riddance!"
I felt my stomach churn...
