grossmont &/or city college waiting list

this will be my second year on the waiting list for the ADN program at grossmont college... when i submitted my application, the school TOLD me it'd be two years, but everyone i talked to said it would be more likely one year, so i assumed that i'd get in this past fall... but, no. :(

so my question is: is anyone else still waiting on the grossmont waiting list? or if you already got in, how long did you wait? is the city college waiting list any shorter?

Okay, so Wednesday will be 5 working days. :uhoh3: So does anyone know what the schedule is like for the Day classes. I can see when the lectures are on the course schedule, but are the clinicals everyday M-F (in the afternoon?)? I need to figure out if it's even possible with daycare times.

I think we're just as antsy as you :banghead: I wish they'd hurry up and tell you already!!! Please let us know, as soon as you hear.

How do you know you will get days? Isn't there one eve/weekend class starting up also?

Does anyone know why less students are admitted in the spring vs. the fall? It looks as though 70 students were admitted in Fall '07 and only 45 will be admitted in Spring '08.

Are their Spring 2008 classes online? If so, look them up to see the time they meet. I hope it works out for you!

No, clinicals are not everyday. Your first semester it's usually just one 6 hour shift per week, unless they changed it from 2 years ago. 2nd, 3rd and 4th semester were one 12 hour shift per week.

nope! no change. still one 6 hour shift per week (& heads up: they didn't tell us until a couple weeks after the start of the semester what day we were assigned), but next semester we are either doing two 6 hour clinicals or one 12 hour clinical, depending on where we're assigned.

My second semester I did 2, 6 hour shifts. It's nice, but I really prefer getting it over with in 1, 12 hour shift.

wow, i haven't been on this site for a while. School and work have kept me busy. 3 classes left and first semester will be over!!! Night and weekend lost 4 students so far and we haven't even taken the finals yet. 3 failed clinicals and 1 dropped. I have my pharm final on Tuesday; i need to start studying. Good luck on your finals everyone.

we've lost five so far out of the day program. how did the people in your class fail clinicals? we just get S/NI/U each week, but i don't know of anyone that's gotten a U, let alone gotten kicked out of the program for their clinical performance. almost everyone that left, dropped for personal reasons... i think one was because of bad grades in the lecture portion of class, though.

can't believe first semester's almost over!! good luck on finals!!

They didn't pass for being late or unprepared, stuff like that.

wow, i thought that final was umm....not like the class objectives. I really was hoping to keep my A.

Everytime your on any waiting list and they ask you if you are still interested,it's because their going to put you in class really soon!!! Good Luck.By the way anyone here going to San Diego City college ?I'm going even though there are so many general education courses to take.I think that's why we have such a major nursing shortage because we have to wait and wait and wait so long on the waiting list and so many courses to take. But oh how sweet it is when we pass the NXLEN test and start working and getting all that $$$$$$$$$$$.San Diego hospitals pay well.

Does anyone have any idea why Grossmont doesn't assign waiting list numbers in addition to not sending continued interest letters like SD City or Palomar? It's no wonder their waiting list is so long if they don't update it.

I have called Grossmont 3 times in 2 yrs and the dept secretary always sounds bothered. I called last week and she couldn't give me any information other than to tell me that I was still on the waiting list.
