California Non-degree RN's

U.S.A. California

Published

Hey guys I know there are alot of us out there--anyone have any info on programs to convert a non-degree RN to either an ASN or BSN?

Time is a huge factor. Thanks

Are you speaking of a Diploma RN? Many of the newer programs combine the ADN with it.

And a degree from this country, or overseas?

Moved to CA forum as it is specific to that state.

California eased the nursing shortage by creating a progressive course of licensure. Nursing students enrolled in a BSN program are able to sit the NCLEX following their junior year. The problem is....if you stop school after you become an RN you cannot work in any other states. I need to finish my degree and am looking for other nurses who have found bridge programs.

In California a licensed registered nurse, diploma or associate degree may earn a BSN receiving credit for the education leading to licensure.

The Cal State system has classroom and on line programs. Some lead to a Public Health certificate.

University of Phoenix is more costly, but students enjoy the learning and it is accredited.

Here is a link to the programs:

Nursing students enrolled in a BSN program are able to sit the NCLEX following their junior year.

Is this really true? Any proof. thanks

Isn't there a 30 unit RN license or something in Ca? I think I read this somewhere on this board, but you can't work as an RN outside of Ca... I'll go try to dig up the thread...
