California BVNPT

Published

Need to get ahold of the California BON r/t license endorsement. Have tried emailing with no response, and tried calling for 3 days now. Every time I call it says call volume is too high and to try back later. Tried different numbers and even the number to report nurses didn't work -_- can someone give me some insight?

I'm aware of the time frame. That wasn't my question. They sent me two different approval letters.
Well, to answer your question, there's no 'secret' phone number that will magically ensure you get through to the BVNPT faster than the thousands of other licensees and hopefuls. Good luck to you.

Sorry no secret number. When my friends had issues with the board a couple of them road tripped from so cal to nor cal because of their inability to get a hold of the board. Unfortunately when the state of California did budget cuts a few years back, they laid off and furloughed multiple employees when they were already short staffed in these departments. Hence no one answering the phone and it taking weeks to process things. I'd recommend the commuters advice to call frequently all day in the hopes they eventually pick up.

Bummer regarding your situation and hope you get a solution soon.

Hello.

It happened to me too.

I received 2 acceptance letters with different file numbers.

I tried to call them many many many times like you did, and

I finally could reach them.

They said that they sent out another acceptance letter due to

their system change, and we didn't have to worry about it if we

already responded to the first letter.

Thanks! I actually faxed them this morning and they called me. It would have been nice if they sent out a letter stating that error!

YES, BVNPT is impossible to reach. My story is similar. Cannot reach anyone by phone or email!

Hi I'm having this same problem and it's so stressful! When I renewed my license I sent all my name change paper work because I had just gotten married. Well when I checked online it said delinquent due to the fact that I hadn't submitted the correct documentation. Since then I've sent all the paperwork, I sent multiple emails and have gotten no response. It's been six months now and I do not know what to do. I have tried calling a million times and I can't get through to anyone. Does Anyone have any suggestions? Please help

I have worked in Florida, Washington, and Hawaii as an LPN. NEVER has my initial licensing or license endorsement been such a long and painful process as it has been here in California.

CALIFORNIA LISTEN UP!!! It's taking nearly 4 months for new resident nurses coming into your state to be able to work!! Your price of licensure is too high, the process is too painful, and your information dissemination is severely lacking.

I started my application process the last week of April 2016. I too attempted to call the Board of vocational nursing on many times between May and June of 2016 and I never got through, and I was always prompted with "the call volume is to high please call again later" (yes the LVN board of nursing is separate from the RN board of nursing). Pretty much the only indication that I had that anything was moving forward on my application process was that my checks were being cashed.

I also emailed the board several times and again had no response between May-June. Even with a Military spouse preference for License expediting.... IT DIDNT MATTER!!!! Expect to wait, and wait and wait.

I did register for the breeze.ca.gov website early on, probably in late May 2016, but I could not move forward with anything in the system until the approval process and my initial application was complete.

Finally, I received my "Initial License Information" letter in the mail July 20th, 2016. (Nearly 12 weeks later!!!) This letter was a congratulatory letter... and I thought to myself, good FINALLY!!! It's almost done. So I then waited for my license to be mailed to me... it was not.

Around the same time of receiving this congratulatory letter I did get a response from a representative from the email of "bvnpt.dca.ca.gov". This email was in response to a complaint I made of the above issues. After emailing back and forth several times with this LVN board representative I gained a little more insight into the CRAZY CALIFORNIA BVNT system ( and let me tell you its like pulling teeth here in good ol' California )

I had to pay ANOTHER 150$ for the actual license. SO.... 150$ for the application fee, 40-60$ for fingerprinting fee, and another 150$ for the license in hand.

To pay this second 150$, I had to scan in my "initial license information" form that had my signature and then make the payment online through the breeze.ca.gov website. Hopefully I will get my license in the next two weeks?

So here it is the second week of August (it is now nearly 15 weeks and going) and I still do not have my license, and I'm waiting, waiting, waiting, and I am probably going to have to renew my Washington license just to give California MORE TIME!!

Hopefully this helps someone gain insight into the grueling process..... although (as I wrote this I thought I would try to reach someone at BVNT # 916-263-7800) suprisingly there was a menu prompt and not the " call volume too high, please call again later". Maybe they are working out the problems they have had earlier in the year?

I too am in the same situation. I sent my stuff in the first of April. I never was able to reach anyone by phone. Same as you, " call volume too high, please call again later". It wasn't until I complained with the DCA that I received an email. I did finally get the letter a couple weeks ago, and paid the other $150 through BREEZE even though I did application in the mail initially, as it was by endorsement. I can't go back to California until I get my license in hand. Don't forget that not only did we pay a fingerprint fee, an evaluation of application fee, license fee, we also paid $30 for NURSYS license verification. I hope you and I hear something soon. I am guessing that the BVNPT is in such hot water, people are so angry, that the phone is set on " call volume too high, please call again later". I have NEVER reached a live person by phone. Good luck cgsince94 and please keep me posted on when you get your license in hand. What a living nightmare!

Hello, I have had the same issue I finally got a hold on those folks sitting in office after 43mins on wait..which is still worth when they are patiently responding to your questions and not just pushing you away. Calling them in the morning as their office starts is a good idea ( like 8am sharp) or or between 2 to 3pm) it does keep on saying .."due to high call rate, we are unable to answer your call" but we got to keep on trying forget about emails it takes a month for them to response. But try those times, hopefully it works for you..

After five months, I got my license
