not to my knowledge. I took oral communications but I think that was more for a general prereq. I cant imagine they wouldnt grant you licensure here when you are already an RN just because of two stupid classes. Did you ask the BRN? It may work better for you if you ask to speak to your "coordinator" or the one "handling your case" because when I did that it seemed like they knew more and all the random operators kept contradicting eachother. good luck
Hey AllAngels - i just did a similar thing, got a CA license endorsed from another state and also got a letter about A&P, etc prereqs. I just had the transcripts sent from the schools I went to prior to my BSN and wrote the state of CA a letter. I had no problem and have my license. Good luck to you.

Hi all,
I am a register nurse with over 1 year of experience. I got my first license from NJ by examination. Now I got a job in CA and I applied to the CA license about a month ago. Today I got a letter form them telling me that they received my BSN transcript but because I took prerequisite classes in another college they asked me to send them that transcript as well. They want to see an evidence for classes in Micro, sociology, A&P 1-2, and written and oral communications. I have taken all of these classes except written and oral communications. I have another baccalaureate degree that has all of my English classes (English 101, English 102) which I am planning to send them. Here is my question, do all of the nurses who graduated in CA and have a CA license take an Oral and written comm class or the English classes suffice?
Thanks in advance for your help!
