Calhoun Community College 2016

Published

Hello,

I know it's still a bit early, but I was wondering if anyone is applying for the Fall of 2016 program at Calhoun?

I emailed to make sure they received mine and they did. I keep thinking I left something out but I am just being paranoid. I just need to find something to keep my mind off of this for the next 2 months. :)

Thinking on maybe not applying since scores have to be in the 200s. My score is not that ! I figure with the new point system I will not get accepted. Good luck everyone:)

I can't believe I'll be turning in my application on Thursday. This has been my dream for 12 years, and I've been solidly working towards it for over a year. Lol, Im not sure what I'll do with my time now. Maybe get back into reading!

I'm also super excited about having other parents in the program! Hopefully we all get in!

@Bobbi73 If I were you, I would go ahead and apply. You may get lucky and since there is no application fee, there's nothing lost if you don't get in.

I dropped off my application yesterday at the administration office:) I feel like I should call them and make sure that nobody stole my application haha

Dropping off my application tomorrow with 265 points :) I was going to mail it but I didn't even want to chance it getting lost.

I'll be at the session tomorrow. If anyone else is going and cares to try and meet up I'm short, brunette, and I'll be wearing glass, probably leggings and a t-shirt.

I'll be there as well most like lot I'll have on a. Black head band a have an Afro puff :-) and also t shirt leggings and flip flops :-)

Ok so I have a question. On the nursing application page 11 the next to the last question.... I've never been in a nursing program so do I circle yes or no for that one?

If you have never been enrolled in nursing program you circle "No".

I went to the Q&A tonight. Apparently the changes made are so that the LPN matches the first three semesters of the RN program. With the RNs after your third semester you can take the nclex-pn and be licenses as an LNP while continuing your RN. The night time program will now have the exact same schedule as the day time program, so it's not considered part time anymore. I know prior the night time program only had an class once a week, and the lady conducting our session made some comment about them meeting twice a week. Oh, and after this application group the RN program wont be scored on TEAS scores anymore, they be scored based on their ACT score.

@charliebarlie,

I'm applying for the PT evening program as well because of little ones. My daughter will be in 1st and my littlest one will hopefully be in a full time pre k program but since I live 50 min from Calhoun, there is no way I could make it to the 8 am classes.

Now I am starting to think I should send an email to verify they received my package. I really wish they would provide a print out of the new PT program classes.

Do you know did they say the points we need or if all lowers are completed? I know UAH you have to have all lowers completed wondering if Calhoun follows the same rule?
