Anyone applying to calhoun community college spring 2015??
Shinnichi are you familiar with the Decatur/ huntsville area?
Not particularly. My husband and I visited last August when he was up there for work, and I came up there again for the TEAS and school things in April. I know the names of some roads and certain landmarks, but I don't know much else about the area.
I am a 25 year law enforcement officer (retired) from Huntsville, and I have great contacts in Decatur and Madison. If you want to email me and give me price range, distance range and so forth you are looking for to rent, I can tell you which places are good areas and which are not in huntsville. If you want to live in Decatur where the school in, or in madison (between huntsville and decatur) I can get with some contacts in those cities and maybe give you some input as well. My email is [email protected]. I don't know if this site will let me receive PM's or not, but you can try if you want. Don't worry. I am NOT a wierdo! lol
Did anyone ask someone from the department what the cutoff was? I am going to ask tomorrow if no one knows. Someone on the Student Announcements said he had 130 and got accepted.
I haven't heard. Do you think perhaps there was a mistake with your app? I've read in a previous Calhoun admission thread that someone was initially sent a rejection letter and when they called they were told their GPA was too low. It turned out to be a clerical error and that person was later admitted. I would check! Perhaps something like that happened to you. Good luck.
Okay, quick question. I looked at my transcripts from my other two schools. I looked at it wrong. After this semester I will have 160 points and can apply for Fall 2015. Do you all think that will be enough or should I retake the class I essentially got a B on? I went to Michigan State and their classes were different and I got a 3.5 in Physiology and a 4.0 in Anatomy. So it all transferred in differently because Calhoun has them as one class, step one and step two. So what I am asking is...... do you think 160 will get me in for the Fall semester? THANK YOU for your input. Best of luck to all of you.

Today I waited for the letter from Calhoun to come, thinking that I was receiving a rejection letter. I just wanted my confirmation so I could move on. Well, the letter came.
I was accepted.
I couldn't believe it! I thought to myself, 'But I only have 131 points...' Well, I looked back and realized that I was thinking of my old score from last time. I have to be at the bottom of the list, though, with 134 points. I'm still in shock! There's a lot to be done before orientation! And now I've got to move within 2 months!
(Anyone know a good, cheap place to rent!?)
