Calhoun CC Fall 2014

Anyone applying for Calhoun's nursing program this fall? I am and I am really anxious and excited!!!

Just spoke to someone that said they don't use that book anymore. I sent an email to teacher but no response yet.

The e-mail I have says that the chapters in the Potter & Perry book cover the same information that's in the first few chapters of the other book. I guess they included that info for people who already had the Health Assessment book for some reason.

That's the same email I have too, Allonsy. I think it's for people who bought the book used and it's a previous edition. As long as we have the fundamentals book we should be fine. I am going to get my books Monday. I hope it's not a madhouse lol

The email I got is identical to the announcement. It's from V. Brown and It doesn't mention anything about the Perry & potter book.

I'm in PTE, so maybe the messages are different. This is what I got (deleted the class name/time/what we need for first day of class stuff):

"The reading assignment for the first week of class: Fundamentals of Nursing, Potter & Perry, 8th ed. 2013, Chapters 9, 24, 26. If you, by chance, have Health Assessment for Nursing Practice, Wilson & Giddens, read Chapters 1-5, it covers the same information. Thanks."

alblove, I hope the bookstore isn't a complete zoo when you're there! It's the first day of class/first day of financial aid waivers, so it will probably be busy for a while. All the nursing books were along the back wall, and there were plenty of them the other day when I went to get my handbook. Good luck and see you Tuesday!

I am going to try to go Monday afternoon close to the end of the day or flex time and go on my lunch break. Thanks for the well wishes! Hopefully I can get what I need and be out fast. I wish they had the nursing books at the Huntsville campus bookstore. See you Tuesday! :)

Thank you for letting us know about the textbook. So I am new to financial aid, I usually pay OOP, but I need to pick up my nurse pack from calhoun. When we use financial aid all we need is our schedule and an ID right? I haven't purchased my calhoun badge and I do not have a calhoun ID card. Does anyone know if we can use a license? If not, I'll purchase my badge before I go to the bookstore.

You can use your student ID and schedule I know but I'm not sure about your DL. Is the badge different from our student ID? I was planning on just getting a badge holder for my ID because I thought they were the same but if not I definitely need to get one of those too.

I'm not sure if they are or not. I just don't have a calhoun ID in general. I never had any use for it.

I think it's just the Calhoun ID. I need to find a holder for mine, too.

I just got my ID the other day. You need a copy of your schedule for that too, so print your schedule, get an ID, and head over to the bookstore.
