Hey guys! Are there any individuals here applying for CSUN's ABSN program for the Summer/Fall 2013? I'm currently applying and would love to hear from those who are into this as well. I'm still finishing up my prerequisites this Fall 2012 but I'll be submitting my application soon. Just reply to this topic to share/discuss anything about the application process...hopefully we all see this to the home-stretch next year :)
Hey guys! I've been reading this forum and finally decided to join because there are no new comments. I applied to the ABSN program for Northridge too, and still haven't heard anything! It's driving me crazy! I just wish if I didn't make it they would just let me know so I can stop checking my e-mail every 2 minutes! Lol, but in all seriousness.. is there anyone else who has not heard anything yet?
Thanks!
Can any current students shed any light on how doable it seems to maintain a very high GPA? I know it helps get into new grad programs, and I plan on continuing on to grad school to become an advanced practice nurse at some point, so maintaining a high GPA is key for me.
Also, do you feel like you all are getting enough practice to feel clinically competent once you start working?
To those of you that were thinking of trying to switch to summer start... for what it's worth... summer start is much more intense than fall start. That first semester is the heaviest (at least it was for us). My advise would be to get some of the texts early and start reading over the summer. I did that and it was really helpful. (I'm in cohort 11)
Good luck!
Hi! Congrats to those who got in! I'm in cohort 11 and about half way through the program now. If you have questions, you can email me at [email protected]. I'll try to help you out where I can.
For those of you starting this summer and are worried about financial aid/paying for school. As far as I know, you have to pay for summer up front and then try to get reimbursed from loans. There was a lot of confusion about that last year.
This is a good program and I've already learned so much. That first semester can be pretty overwhelming and confusing sometimes, but I promise it gets easier. Reach out to those of us in cohorts 10 & 11. We are happy to help.
Good luck!

Hi again,
I started a facebook group for the incoming cohorts (12 &13) where you can connect with some of us in the program. I'll also tell cohorts 10 & 11 about it so they can participate if they want to.
Please keep in mind that the group is for those already accepted to the program, not for people trying to get in.
Also, please stay professional when posting in this group. Online reputations are important, especially in this profession.
The group's info is:

Nope, I have not received a rejection nor an acceptance.
