Anyone planning on applying to the Spring 2011, CSUSM, accelerated ABSN program? Just wondering if there is anyone else out there:)
jay franklin-can you please explain what you mean by admitting on a rolling basis? the website says admissions are "processed" on a rolling basis. do you mean that if you are qualified, you will be admitted on a rolling basis? (kind of like a wait list?) so if someone applies after you and has higher points, then they would be admitted after you?
also, will the evaluators be admitting any students for spring 2011 with ip classes this fall?
sarah v: the rolling basis was explained by in an earlier posting.
a person who applies after you and has "higher points" will be admitted "before" you. every qualified applicant (based on the completion of the core, the last 60 gpa & teas exam) is ranked based on their points. so...if a qualified applicant has higher points than you they will be admitted before you. oh...i'm using the word "you" loosely...this response by no means is singling you out.
Sarah V - I received my acceptance letter in the mail today for CSUSM I had about a 37 on the points scale.
Is there anyone out there that got accepted and was able to switch campuses because I was accepted to for the Temecula campus and I am living in Irvine which is a good hour and half drive?
Gosh that is a bummer, I actually live in Temecula, that is why I want this school so bad. All the other schools are so far from me and I have kids and do not want to travel. The Temecula campus is literally down the street from me. I do not know their rules on switching, but I do remember last year for the Spring 2010 cohort some people posted that they got in Temecula and wanted to switch to the San Marcos campus and they wouldn't switch them. I know they take 54 students at the San Marcos campus and 54 at the Temecula campus. I remember some people lived down the street from CSUSM and they made them drive to Temecula. If you applied to other schools, just see what other offers you get. I would also contact your advisor at CSUSM and ask them if you can switch to the San Marcos campus. Good luck to you!
