I am an international BSC nursing graduate.
My school sent official documents to the California Board of Nursing. The documents included were: application for liscensure, official transcript, a copy of my degree, the breakdown required for international graduates, and a booklet that contained detailed information about the courses that I had taken.
The school had notified me that it sent out my document on the week of Sept 22-26 2014. I recently created an account on Breeze and paid the stated amount for testing. I have not been given notification from the board stating that they have or have not received my document. Please give me information on the status of application.
-this the message that i faxed and sent to the board... i haven't got a reply but right after i paid they sent me a longer list of more required documents i am wondering if they received the mail at all ?? because i paid over 200 dollars just to have a course description book made...
i cant reach them at all.
so should i resend everything including the new documents they asked for ....or should i wait it out more?...
Also should i start another application for liscensure in another state on the side ..??
if so, what states have a speedier process and where they are good with communication
because CA bon is not cutting it!

Are you a US citizen or permanent resident with a valid SSN? What state do you plan to live in and work? If CA when you attempt to endorse back to CA you will go through the exact same extended assessment that can take months. Plus you will have paid for another state license, assessment (most other states require a CGFNS assessment that costs several hundreds and many require proof of English proficiency ) and testing for a state that you have no intention to live or work.
CABRN has their own team that assesses and verifies the credentials of IENs applying for a license by examination or endorsement. They get back logged quickly and it can take months for CABRN to approve or deny a licensing application.
I think since I already Paid the money I'm just going to keep trying idk ..any one have experiences with the ca Bon? I am applying to mn that is where I live so I will need cfgns .. My hope was to finish with Cali without the cfgns and take that lisense to Minnesota

Because CA do their own assessment it doesn't always fair well when looking at endorsing to another state as they will also require some form of assessment
Ok so ur saying that if I do finish with Cali and get licensed by them..im not guaranteed acceptance by Minnesota? Someone told me to try and get licensed through new York...but I'm just going to go with Cali and Minnesota..also, does anyone know if I need to take a refresher course ? Do most people take that?
NY do their own assessment with CGFNS and that takes longer than the other service that CGFNS provide. Most IEN that apply to CA are getting denied so really think and read up before you apply to them

And your citizenship status does matter, as another poster asked if you are a citizen or have an SSN, which you did not answer.
I am a US citizen...so no worries on that part.So an update my school recently sent in all of my required documents..i am waiting to recieve my liscense so i can send in my fingerprinting and my liscense ...then im done...What is IEN? What is the CA bon rejecting foreign nursing graduates based on? If it is concurrency issues..I think i dont have a problem with that..I have decided to wait until i get some kind of response from CA bon ...how long would that take? ...until I apply to CFGNS,

IEN = Internationally Educated Nurse
One of the things they reject IENs for is the concurrency issue. There are certain specific subjects that they evaluate (by regulation) for concurrency. They also check very closely for the possibility that they may have been sent fraudulent transcripts. Basically they go over your records very carefully to ensure that you definitely meet California standards for initial licensure. That's just some of the reasons why it takes an IEN applicant a bit of time to be approved.

Since it appears that the minute you pass the NCLEX-RN, you plan to work and practice in the state of MN, so just simply focus all your attention to get qualified to take the NCLEX-RN in MN, forget all about CA and another other possible "easy, fastest and cheapest" state.
Why?
Because the minute you pass the NCLEX in any other state (not MN), guess what? You plan to endorse to MN and you're now going to end up wasting more time (for further evaluation of your transcripts while could take months and up to nearly a year, that's after your school has to re-send all the same transcripts as before) and more expenses (to pay for that evaluation and brand new non-refundable application fees).
So instead of looking for a job that minute you pass the NCLEX or if you had a job offer in hand, you'll be possibly losing that job position because you will have to now tell your employer can you wait 6-9 months or more for me, please don't give the job to someone else who can start work next week. That's the reality of the situation.
Everyone taking this route to get a RN license in one "easy, fastest and cheapest" process, ALL find out in the end, they just ended up with going the most "hardest, slowest and expen$ive" way to do the endorsement method. Everyone going this way strongly believe that once they obtain their RN license in the "quick" state, they can simply pay a fee and get their RN license in their real desired state.
Because as previously mentioned here, the new desired state (MN in this case) is going to ask for the all things you didn't want to deal with (again, you must now meet the real desired state's BON minimum requirements) in terms of time and money, but guess what? You're going to have to do it anyways and could have avoided all the waste of time and money by just focusing on the desired state in the very first place.
Btw, what country is your BSN from? This could also have some bearing on getting passed the stricter CA BRN rules and regulations.
I have a big problem so the country I went to school in Ethiopia is denying me my license to practice..they are saying that I have to be there to get the lisense and noone else can go and get it...its like a government building ..i know this is not legal because I gave a legal authorization to my aunt to get my license and send it to me...my mom was saying we should go to the state and ask if there is anything they can do...i know Africa is corrupted I think they want a bribe or something idk sometimes they just like to see people miserable too...is there a way I can describe my situation to the California board soo confused!

Suggest you call the California BON and discuss with them. Maybe ask for a supervisor if you are not comfortable with their answer.
