My friend took his exam July 30, 2008 here in the Philippines. It's already September 9, 2008 and still no results. We called CA-BON just now and was told that his results were mailed to his original address in Ohio last August 11! How come he doesn't have the results yet? Post office problems? or was the CA-BON lying?

Compare the time line when I had my exam in Manila June 10, 2008. I got the results June 25, 2008. And take note that it was mailed here in the Philippines from CA and only took 2 weeks. Mailing time was only actually 6 days (CA-BON sent it out June 19).

They could have gotten lost in the post, he could request that they be posted again to him

Still no results so we called again and just asked them to resend the letter. they say we have to wait for 2 more agonizing weeks! what happened with the mail? They are sure they sent it August 11.

Nada. Zilch. MY friend's getting really frustrated. We called CA-BON again and they resent the results Sept 12, 2008 (CA to OH) but he still hasn't received anything. How many days does it take anyway? It's been 10 days and a total of 54 days already! Is there any other way to at least track the letter?

you guessed it. no results till now!!!

Ohio had some bad rains so things could have been delayed because of that.

Letters can only be tracked if an additional fee is paid to do so, otherwise there is no way to track it.

If this has happened twice, did your friend verify the address that was on record with the BRN to make sure that it was correct in the first place?

Have they moved since they submitted the paperwork to the BRN?

Hi Ms Suzanne! Yes we verified that the address is correct last Sept 11. This is my friend's second time to take the NCLEX and the result of the first exam was sent to the same address he used for this one.

The only difference is, he took the first exam in Ohio and his second one here in Manila. But he opted not to change the mailing address anymore to avoid possible delays but I guess that strategy didn't work.

We called again just now to verify the address and when it was resent. It was resent last Sept 12 at the correct address.

Thanks for your help and concern ms suzanne. I really hope he gets it soon. All his nursing plans are on hold because of this. :(

I am licensed out of CA. Took the exam on Sept 16, was listed as a licensed RN online on Sept 19.

You hold a SSN#, if the person that is testing does not; then their name will not be on the CA website. CA does not issue licenses if the person is not able to work in the US, they only get a letter that they passed.

Congratulations to you on passing.

I understand that your friend is back in Manila but is their name still listed with that address as well in Ohio?

Ohio had some very bad rains last week, the same time that the storms hit Texas and Lousiana. So depending on the area that the mail was sent to, some areas were more prone to delays.

Ah! Now that does make a difference.

Although, come to think of it, I just did a seach for licenses (like anyone RN or not can http://www.rn.ca.gov/online_services/perm-verif.shtml) and then entered my last name. I didn't enter my SSN.

Thanks for the congrats.
