My friend took his exam July 30, 2008 here in the Philippines. It's already September 9, 2008 and still no results. We called CA-BON just now and was told that his results were mailed to his original address in Ohio last August 11! How come he doesn't have the results yet? Post office problems? or was the CA-BON lying?
Compare the time line when I had my exam in Manila June 10, 2008. I got the results June 25, 2008. And take note that it was mailed here in the Philippines from CA and only took 2 weeks. Mailing time was only actually 6 days (CA-BON sent it out June 19).
Ah!Now that does make a difference.
Although, come to think of it, I just did a seach for licenses (like anyone RN or not can http://www.rn.ca.gov/online_services/perm-verif.shtml) and then entered my last name. I didn't enter my SSN.
Thanks for the congrats.
If you hold a SSN#, you do not need to enter it on the website, and Ca BRN will post your name if you do pass. However, if you do not hold a SSN#, then they will not issue a license and therefore one will not be able to see their name on the website for CA.
You are only going to see those listed that can work legally in the US and possess a SSN#; all of the others have not had a license number issued to them. That is the issue that this poster's friend is having.
Yes his name is still listed there in Ohio. Thanks for your input. I hope he gets it real soon. I just found out another friend of mine already got her passing results. CA-BON mailed it Sept 17 and she got it Sept 24. It only took 7 days including weekends from CA-Manila.If after 2 weeks (September 26: that's the max time they told him to wait), and there's still no results, would it be better to ask CA-BON to send it again here in Manila instead?
That would be a smart idea. And again why CA is never recommended if one does not have a SSN#. And with the retrogression in place as well, it is going to be almost impossible to get the SSN# within the three year timeframe to get a license number issued. But this is all discussed on the International Forum so best to have a good read there.
my friend just called ca-bon because it's been more than 2 weeks since they resent it and he still doesn't have anything!!!
here's the best part: they're making him wait another another 2 weeks! they said it's the board's policy to wait for one month. but, if he wanted the results to be resent now, he has to pay $10!
it's just confusing and really irritating since the one we talked to 2 weeks ago said he only has to wait 2 weeks max and they can resend it again. it's been 61 days already. i just really feel bad for my friend. can we do anything else?
Sorry, but there is nothing else that your friend can do. When one does not possess a SSN#, then things are much harder all over now in many cases.
And this a major reason why we never recommend CA to anyone that does not possess a legal SSN# in the first place. Too many things can happen as well as the fact that a license number is not issued.
But why is your friend not posting about this instead of you?
I am going to move this thread to the International Forum as it really is not about the NCLEX exam, but being a foreign national and that is the reason for the hold-up. Think that it can cause confusing for those that have no idea of the other requirements for licensure.
Thanks for your understanding on this.
oh my gosh!... in my case, i just emailed my evaluator and she told me that it was just mailed last oct 2, 2008. so now i'm just waiting for it. i have a question??? is the length of time for the results here in the Philippines means you are failed? bcz i'm worrying... it took them 1wk and 4 days bfore they've mailed my results. or maybe it is bcoz they are still processing other nclex results around the world...
