I have consecutively applied to the Butte College Nursing Program for the last 4 semesters (2 years!). When I first applied, I was aware of the waiting list but I was told that the 4th time applying would guarantee a spot in the program due to the increase in chances every semester. I just emailed the program directer who was very nice and helpful, but informed me that most students are getting in their 6th or 7th time applying! I would love to hear from others who are working toward the Butte RN program, how many times they have applied and so on...would love to hear some feedback on other's experiences!

Well, at least we can save up some more money!

Just wondering during all this time of waiting did any of you consider getting your LVN. I got my LVN and only waited maybe 6 months after applying to get into their LVN to RN program. In total that is is maybe one and a half years.

I am going to do the LVN program at sac city college. I have applied to butte 3 times and done waiting. It seems like the best way to go these days with the crazy lottery system in CA. Have you already completed the LVN to RN program?

I have two semesters left. I will be done in December. Theirs is a three semester thing.

Well here we are again, we should all get word by April 10th... Since its my 7th time I'm told I'm in but I'll believe it when I see it :)

Totally! Last year, we got our rejections on March 26 so I'm really hoping we hear this month. I hate being in limbo!

I probably will consider applying to Butte's LVN program along with getting on their Butte lottery/waitlist. It typically takes 6 semesters to get into the RN program, and I really should have been on the WL 2 years ago, but didn't apply.. so I am 2 years behind.

I will also be applying to ADN programs throughout Cali and saving for a car as well as living costs/paying off credit debt.

It's possible I could get into a different ADN program in Cali before Butte... I just don't have the statistics to figure that out. I've emailed them, but they don't seem to give that out it seems.

Did those who applied for the 7th time this year get in? I applied for my 6th time and didn't get in, just wondering the chances of getting in for the 7th time.

I did! Finally!!! It all depends on how many are on their 7th application... I would say most likely, 6th time was a 50/50 shot I was told

I am a first time applicant. I did not get in which i did excpect but was hoping to be lucky. Congrats to those who got in :)
