Butte College RN Program

U.S.A. California

Published

I have consecutively applied to the Butte College Nursing Program for the last 4 semesters (2 years!). When I first applied, I was aware of the waiting list but I was told that the 4th time applying would guarantee a spot in the program due to the increase in chances every semester. I just emailed the program directer who was very nice and helpful, but informed me that most students are getting in their 6th or 7th time applying! I would love to hear from others who are working toward the Butte RN program, how many times they have applied and so on...would love to hear some feedback on other's experiences!

Awesome and congrats!

Good luck in August and beyond

hello guys,

I had applied Continuously for 3.5 years, and I was selected 7th time applying to the lottery.

Congrats on your entrance to the program. I am in my second semester and I can tell you this is the most awesome program with some really great people who are very passionate about nursing.

That's awesome! Got my 4th rejection this week, but just gonna keep at it lol

Good luck next semester!!

If you don't mind me asking why do you have to apply so many times and why does your odds of getting in increase with each application?

Also is it every semester that you can apply so it takes up to 4ish years to get in? If I'm correct.

It will take approximately 3-3.5 years of waiting. The more times you apply the more chance you have of getting selected into the program. It goes like this see below.

1st applications equals 1 lottery ticket

2nd applications equals 2 lottery tickets

3rd applications equals 3 tickets tickets.

So on and so on.

So for each time you apply the computer give you better odds every drawing that occurs.

There is one person in our class that got in on their first application for the lottery.

Has anyone heard back from the Butte College RN Program for applications turned in Feb. 28th?

Not yet!

I keep on checkin my email, I hope we find out soon!

Me too! I guess at this point no news is good news. =)

I agree! Hopefully we get an answer by next week!
