Butte College RN Program

U.S.A. California

I have consecutively applied to the Butte College Nursing Program for the last 4 semesters (2 years!). When I first applied, I was aware of the waiting list but I was told that the 4th time applying would guarantee a spot in the program due to the increase in chances every semester. I just emailed the program directer who was very nice and helpful, but informed me that most students are getting in their 6th or 7th time applying! I would love to hear from others who are working toward the Butte RN program, how many times they have applied and so on...would love to hear some feedback on other's experiences!

Hi! I am currently waiting to hear back from my 6th application for the Fall of this year. What application is this for everyone else?

I am just curious, how many times did it take applying before you got in? Thanks

I am currently on my 7th application, They say this is the lucky number! I spoke to a lady at the health occupations office and she said 65% of 7th time applicants get in. I'm still praying! I hope we all get in!í ½í¹Œí ¼í¿½í ½í¹Œí ¼í¿½

Just got my rejection email yesterday. That will be #5, but you have to just keep applying. Only a matter of time :-)

I received my 1st rejection notice yesterday. No surprise. =)

Does anyone have suggestions or advice for staying current on physiology/anatomy. The longer I'm away from it feels like I'm forgetting. Three and half years is a long time to retain the info if you're not using it.

I am third on the waiting list! I'm praying I get in this semester!

There are some good YouTube videos and apps like khan academy that you can watch. They go over A&P by subject which makes it pretty easy to review!

I got in this year, my 7th time around! The things you are required to know regarding anotomy and physiology are on the teas study manuals, I personally found it helpful and it's been 3+ years since I took anatomy and I scored above 90 percent on the science section of the teas test. So don't stress too much about it, just make sure to study, there are so many resources out there.

I just got a rejection email two days ago, but I wasn't super surprised since it was only my first application. Anybody have any input on what to do while waiting to get in? Currently I'm toying with the idea of getting my CNA license when Butte has a class this summer, is it worth it?

Nursejazzy5 congrats on getting on the waitlist! i am also on the waitlist! Hope we both get in!!!!

Katie_kat18 This is my 7th time applying with butte. just hang in there. I am on the waitlist and i am hoping to get in. While i was waiting i went to sac state and got my BS. I think getting your CNA license would be a great step in the right direction. i also encourage you to apply to work in a hospital. i am currently working in a hospital and i am learning so much! it is a great experience, and i already have my foot in the door for when i finally do get in to a program. anything you can do right now to build your resume will help!!!! Good luck!!!!!

I got in!!!

I'm praying and sending good vibes for you to start this semester also!!

Nursejazzy5 YOU GOT IN!!!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!! Yes, now we just need two more to not stay in and I'll be in the program with you. did you just get an email saying you were in? i thought we were all suppose to get updates when people moved on the waitlist? did you get any updates when the first two people were moved into the class and you were moved to number one?
