I don't actually know when letters go out. I bridge from LVN to RN and I was called 2 weeks before the program started. I knew someone who called the week before.

Don't be discouraged, it will happen, just keep bothering Michelle. And there was a lady in the cohort after mine that was late 50 or early 60s.

So I am scheduled to take boards on 02/17. I took Kaplan and I took Hurst. My QBank and Question Trainers range 55-60, and I got a 60.8 on Predictor A and 62 on Predictor B. In each test I usually have one subcategory under 50 and it's usually by one question and they are hardly ever the same categories. For Hurst I have taken to Test, I don't actually know that they call theirs, and first one I got 79 and second 73. I went through all my questions to see what I did wrong. I am rereading the Hurst Content book. I just want to know what else can I do. I am trying flash cards for meds but even the meds on these tests don't look familiar to me so I can only imagine NCLEX. I watch the content videos for Kaplan, and followed along in the book but for some reason my numbers aren't amazing. I just need help my test is in 4 days. What are some tips? My friend is also letting me use his NCLEX 10000 for more questions and it's in level 8 and I get 50 percent.

I have two semesters left. I will be done in December. Theirs is a three semester thing.

Some have made it sound like they are tied together and some make them a separate thing. I just want to know if anyone has been approved, other than my co-worker, because I feel like it is huge risk. Quitting my job to hopefully get UI/CTB. But if I don't then I do not qualify for WIA.

That's what I thought too until I spoke with counselors, co-workers and the WIA rep that kept saying to use UI to get through retraining.

Well I first heard of it through a CO-Worker who quit her job to go to LVN school. She said she got unemployment through CTB (California Training Benefit) which I thought was crazy too because I thought like everyone above has said that UI is only for wrongful fire. So while doing research to get help with school I signed up for WIA and the lady said that I did not qualify because I make too much and suggested I quit. And I asked her how the hell am I suppose to live if I quit and she said UI. So I am so confused. Because I talked the people at employment and they mentioned that if I quit for "good cause" then I could qualify but there is no guarantee that they will see quitting to go back to school as good cause. And then they go onto say that quitting to go into a training for a high demand job is considered good cause. So I am all sorts of confused.

Hey everyone, So I just started my LVN to RN bridge at Butte College in Chico, CA. I am currently working 32 hours a week. Next semester due to class schedule I am CONSIDERING leaving work, but I want to know has anyone QUIT their job to continue their education and qualified for unemployment benefits? I know my job will not let me go easily because we are merging with a Prompt Care Facility but with school and studying and cost of sitter I can't work. I have talked to the Butte County Employment people and none of them have given me for sure answers or anything that is concrete. I need to know for next term. Alexandra, LVN

Just wondering during all this time of waiting did any of you consider getting your LVN. I got my LVN and only waited maybe 6 months after applying to get into their LVN to RN program. In total that is is maybe one and a half years.

Have you looked into California Benefits Training? I know some people that got it while they were doing their LVN. I am not sure if it works for LVN to RN but you should try it out. I was planning on doing it but my work is willing to work with me so no option there.

If you are having to quit your job look into California Benefits Training. My coworker that is an LVN got it while she was in school. I do not know for sure it will work for bridges but it wouldn't kill to try.

Maybe put it on a credit card? And if you go to Mission they have a daycare there but the waitlist is crazy.
