Hi! I applied for the fall 2011 Nursing Program at Burlington County College and was just wondering if anyone else on here is waiting to hear if they got in. I've finished all of my pre-req's with honors and live in county but I know it's a matter of who gets their applications in first so I'm still really nervous ! Just looking to see if anyone else on here is in the same boat being I know I can't be the only one! Hoping to get a letter soon! :)
I took the CPR class with a girl who was going into the fall program so I assume she got hers. I don't think Spring is to expect anything until after August. I also spoke to someone in my class who was in the middle of the nursing program. She said she was elected class president and was going to e-mail me her notes from the program so that I am excited about! She also said there's no way to double up on classes, however the time you're expected for the NUR classes isn't 4p-12a. It could be Monday and Wednesday 2 hours of lecture, Tuesday Thursday 4 hours clinical, Friday lab for example. She also said you have to be strict about keeping a log of your lab time.
I just bought everything we need except the stethoscope and syllabus and the scrubs pants (already own a pair for work) I will get the stethoscope online for a cheaper price and the syllabus isn't available yet like our packets told us. Anyway the total came to $630.00 ...just a heads up for you guys. They were just stacking the shelves with all we need so the only thing I had to order were the two name tags, everything was there. They will let you drive around back to load it all in your car, no way can you carry it all!
Happy shopping everyone!
I went and got my books the other day during one of those torrential rainstorms. Got everything except for the syllabus, stethoscope, and the scrub top (they didn't have my size). @KGMM, I didn't see the name tags when I was there. Did you ask for them or did they give them to you?? I'm going to have to try to get back there at some point to get everything else. I'm also going to price out shoes and see what I can find that's cheap. And they didn't let me pull my car around, so I had to carry everything double and triple bagged back up the stairs and across to the parking lot, in the pouring rain. My bill was $670ish. Also went and got my physical done, have an appt for the labs next weekend.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summers. Can't wait to meet everyone!
You have to order 2 name tags. That's a shame you had to lug everything around like that I asked about the name tags being it says in our packet that we need to order them. They filled out a special receipt and order form, I paid for them and they said they'd call me when they were in. I have not heard from them as of yet but planned to call next week if I don't get a call first. I'm going to shop around for shoes too, where I work I can wear clog style or white sneakers so I don't have the proper shoes yet. I found my stethoscope cheaper online on medisave.net
I have my appt for my physical this coming monday and will do whatever blood work is needed the same day being I work very close to a lab. I think I'm set..but will triple check a few times I'm sure! lol! Let me know where you find shoes and if I find mine first I'll let you know! I'm just picturing having to lug all of that in a ridiculous rain we've had! ugh! I don't envy that at all!

Not sure if you want me to know you personal info but if you want me to look for your grade and email it to you Thursday morning I'd be happy to do that...but again not sure you want to give me your student id# or let me see your grade...even though we have chatted on here and were in class we're obviously still strangers! lol!
I'll let you know when I'm going to get the books once I get back, if your car still isn't fixed I could always give you a ride if you wanted.
Anything to help a fellow nursing student :)
