Hello To All,
Anyone attending Bunker Hill Community College in Boston for the ADN program? I will be starting there in January of 09 and just wanted to know from some insiders how the program is or how the instructors are? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you been accepted to the adn program - if so, which one - days, evenings or weekends?
I have not been excepted to any program or school as of yet. I want to attend Bunker Hill Community College. I just got back today from speaking to addmissions and they said i can do all my proper paper work after Oct 15th. I have to take all my pre-reqs before I can get into the program itself. After speaking with the representative at the school she tells me It is very competitive to get into the program. She states alot of people get denied and they go by your gpa of your pre-reqs and the scored on your CPT, and RDG (Reading Comprehensive Test). I will be going full time during the day to answer your question though. Any Advice anyone?
If you are starting your prereqs there, I took drug calculations and developmental psychology there online. The test questions for developmental psychology are given to you at the beginning of the course - they are all essay questions. No reason not to get an A in that class. Drug calculations will be very easy for you if you have taken a chemistry class where dimensional analysis is used. I just started the nursing part of the program two weeks ago - we were told that 1 out of 6 applicants was accepted for our class. I took my other prereqs elsewhere so I cannot comment about A & P or microbiology.

i took A&P with an awesome teacher! he makes it easy, and he teaches it so well. he is a MD too, i believe. he teaches A&P at the Chelsea campus. but be sure to register early for his section because it fills up quickly. There is also a very good teacher for Human Growth & Development.

I am taking classes at BHCC,I work 40 hrs a week and Im taking A&p 2at school at night (5 hr class :zzzzz) and drug calculations online I have all my other pre reqs.
I think that A&P 1&2 are hard classes whether or not you take it at BHCC.
Im hoping to apply for the fall 2009. By then I would have been attending classes for 2 years.

Hi spudbunny,
I've been at BHCC for 1 and a half year. I'm planning to apply into nursing program at BHCC this Spring program(day/evening). I took the TEAS on October 16th, 2008. I scored 88.2%, in 93 percentile. I'm so worried right now because I do not know if that score is good enough for the nursing program. I know that you are a nusing student at BHCC, so would you please tell me if it's a good score or not. If it's not, I have to switch my major or transfer to another school :C. I do not have enough time to wait for another cycle because I'm an international student.
Best,

I know of someone who took all her pre reqs and co reqs with a GPA of 3.8? and her teas results was in the 70% not too good but she was accepted for Fall 2008, she had all her Gen ed classes done and they seemed to like that. Im hoping that you get in :wink2:
Thanks so much for your information. I feel better now.
:)
I also think you have a better chance to get in since you are applying for spring and not fall. Which program are you applying for - days or evenings? You can apply for both programs - I didn't know that when I applied.
Thanks, Spudbunny. I hope everything will be fine with me.
I've just done with my pre-requisites, and continue working on my co-requisites this Fall semester. I know that students who finished all their pre and co-requisites will have a better chance to get into the nursing program. I know that your TEAS score was excellent, but I would like to know if you finished the co-requisites before applying?
I did have all my prerequisites and corequisites done at application time - but I am in the weekend program and that program requires that all prerequisites and corequisites be completed before you can be accepted.
