How much experience do accepted students into an Accelerated BSN Program have?
The way I have seen it done in here in MASS is that for the ABSN you dont need a bachelors degree or your undergrad degree. It goes by your GPA and the ABSN is just a faster quicker way to get your bachelors but twice as intense. I have seen some colleges offer this but instead of taking 9-12 credits per semester, your taking like 16-18 credits per semester. Crazy if you ask me.

Should I start off as CNA or Medical Assitant.. need advice!
Just to quickly reply, I recall you saying that your CNA course takes like 2 months. I am actually taking my CNA course right now, and I am on my 3rd week and I am going part time. It will take me 4 weeks to complete part time. M-TH 5:30pm-9:30pm. After completing the course I get the Certificate, and then apply to take the state exam, and after passing this then I will get my State Certification. Total Cost for this course $550. Last night was also my first time in Clinical as well. :wink2:

Scholarships or Tuition Assitance
Hello, I lost my job about 2 weeks ago which really made my mind up to go back to school. I did get a nice severance package, and will be collecting unemployment until I get into school in January. The question I had is where could I possibly get scholarships, or free money for school/Tuition Assistance. I do live in the state of MA if that helps. If anyone out there what so ever has any clue or information that would be helpful to me, please post. Thanks So Much

Registering for Classes Today
:bugeyes:Hello, I have registered for classes. I am going to be taking 4 classes. I will be taking English Comp1, Reading Lit, Algebra 1, and Spanish 1. I know it doesnt sound like classes that may get me to where I want to be right now. I was more hoping to take classes like A&P1, Biology, and Pyscholgy, classes like those. Unfortuanetly my reading score on my college placement test was to low to start into any of those classes i just listed. I will start in January 09 at the community college. The community college only offer a 2 yr ADN program, but idealy im just going to this college to complete all my pre-reqs with hopes to transfer to a 4 yr school. I picked up Spanish 1 because i know this was going to be an easy class, as I already speak spanish fluently. They do not have to know that though. LOL... Ideally i just wonder how long will this all this take to complete, if I plan on transfering? I guess it is just a little overwhelming thats all. I just feel like Im already 25 yrs old, and i should of done this along time ago. Thats all. Overall I am really excited to start back to school. It has been along while since I have been to school, since high school to be exact. Dont mean to tell a story or anything, just wanted to vent a little bit thats all. I have a feeling that allnurses.com is going to become my second family real soon. LOL...:typing

CRNA Salaries. Have They Gone Down?
So if you are a CRNA, which Im sure you are is there talk about soon CRNA will need a Doctorial Degree? I am very interested myself to become a CRNA or even an Anetheseologist, but not sure which path to take. I would love to get some nursing under my belt but by the time I finish everything i hope there will be some type of transition if i was to become a CRNA and if I wanted to go back to school to become a Dr. Phd Anetheseologist I could. Dont get me wrong but it is not all about the income to me. I take interest in Medicine and I love the wonders it could do for people, but salary does play an important part of my life, if i want to settle down, get married, have a family one day, I will need to be able to provide and support for them. I heard salaries for CRNA range from $140,000-$210,000 a yr, not sure if this is true, and Anetheseologist can make $320,000-$400,000 a yr, not sure if this is true either? Could you possibly answer this for me? Is the potential there to make that kind of money? :typing I really appreciate your response from earlier and would like to thank you for replying.

CRNA Salaries. Have They Gone Down?
Hello Have CRNA salaries gone down? I do know they vary by different areas and regions of the US, but after looking into it, its seems like overall they have too a significant drop? What can one expect starting out as a CRNA? And as your expierience increases could someone possibly provide a break down chart, and let me know typically what does a CRNA max out at? Thanks for all your help!
