BSN program @ UFV September 2014 Intake

Hello,

I have just completed my application for the BSN program at UFV for the September 2014 Intake. I thought I would start this thread for anyone wanting to share their thoughts, ask some questions etc. The deadline is fast approaching! As far as I know interviews take place in March and decisions usually are done in May. I have a sister who is in fourth semester at UFV and is loving it! She found this site very helpful while going through the application process as it tends to be a long one!

Ok, they have changed things then! I have friends from every year at UFV - everyone was always invited to the info session - they had two nights with a full room for it. They never used to look at your actual GPA either - every letter grade counted for a certain # of points. That is what frustrated a lot of people - if they were .5% from an A and would still only get points for a B. Anyway good to know! Now I'm nervous!!! I guess we just wait now. Thanks for all the info Meghan111 and good luck:)

You bet, and good luck to you as well!

oh and she said we should start hearing back from them about the info session by Mid-Feb to early March.

Meghan111,

Thanks for the info! I guess selection process hasn't changed since last year for regular BSN entry but I don't know how LPN access to BSN applicant selection works. I will probably have to contact the school on Tuesday. I really hope to be invited to the information session and interview! I guess we will let the waiting game begin and stay sane until mid-February. Also, with regards to reviewing your application update status, I don't see anything on myUFV. I guess my application was still active(it will stay active unless you've failed the interview twice) from last year so I just had to email updated documents to Kathryn Garcia(health science program advisor) and never had to apply online. When emailed the administrative office last week and I was told that it says my application has been sent to the program for review. SHOULD I BE WORRIED NOW!?

haha no, no need to be worried. That's what mine says as well. "Ready for review by program". So much nicer than seeing "incomplete".

Good luck!

Has anyone heard anything yet for the info session?

How about now? Has anyone heard anything from school via mail or email? I wonder how many people applied for the September semester? Let me know when you guys have any news to share :)

There have so many administrative screw ups with my application, if I hadn't been on the ball with checking in to see of my application has been reviewed, it would never have even made it to chwk campus for ****** to review. It still hadn't been sent over as of last Thursday and **** (admin at chwk) said that not only should have been received by then, chronologically speaking, it should have already been finished getting reviewed. So **** had to sort that out with **** in Abbotsford and apparently they were going to get it for review by now. But still no word.:(

I still haven't even received a complete applicant status letter.:*(

Hello everyone! Does anyone know where it states "ready for review" on their MYUFV account? I cant seem to find it.. This is my first time applying. I graduated high School in 2012 and have been wrking since trying to save up money, now that I have applied I am a little nervous. I applied with 3 A's and 1 B for the prerequisites and got an A in Soc 101 and an A- in Eng 105 and have 100 hrs at a ling term care facility. I am really hoping it pulls through.. Does anyone know if your grades are high enough if you get a for sure spot in the interviews?

Hi KBevan,

congrats on your high achievements! You probably have a great chance and will more than likely be invited to the info session as they base those invites on high GPA's and volunteer/workplace hours. After that it will be determined on the number of points you receive from your essay (written at info session) and your interview. No one is guaranteed a spot unfortunately, but with your grades I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.:) just blow them away with your interview!! Good luck to you!
